Def Leppard played show number 9 of The Stadium Tour in Jacksonville, FL last night with only 15 songs performed.

The show took place at the 67,154 capacity TIAA Bank Field.

The first show in Jacksonville since April 2017 at the Welcome To Rockville festival.

The 9th show by the band in this city and first time at this venue.

The first visit to Jacksonville was in May 1983 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum during the Pyromania tour.

After three relatively dry shows would the return to Florida be uneventful?.

Of course not!. This tour has been cursed by the devil himself!...

Show #9 - Bad Weather Strikes Again

An early rain delay saw the crowd evacuated once again to shelter and torrential downpours almost soaked those waiting for the show to start.

Joan Jett eventually started her set but only played for 30 minutes which was a sign of things to come.

She and her band played just 7 of the scheduled 12 songs.

Another weather delay occurred ahead of Poison who started around 25 minutes after the usual 7pm start time.

They also cut their show short with only six songs and ended at 8:10pm.

Def Leppard had been scheduled to start at 9:30pm in the closing slot but at 8:40pm Motley Crue were starting their show.

A decision had been made by both bands to cut their sets down and Motley played 12 of their 15 songs as more rain fell.

Def Leppard followed but did not start the show until around 10:25pm. Almost one hour later than planned.

Like Motley Crue they cut three songs from the normal setlist.

In other words the full semi-acoustic section was not played and they went straight from 'Excitable' into 'Rocket'.

Joe mentioned the delays, the rain and the fact he was scared of the slippery stage but the band played on to the end.

The end being one of their latest finishes to an American show outside of festivals at 11:45pm.

The next show sees them move to a new time zone but will the weather improve?.

Motley Crue

3 songs cut in a 12 song setlist with two full songs removed and the medley section from their usual show.

'Joe Elliott - Foolin' Intro

"Good evening Jacksonville. Apologies for the delay. As you can tell weather is not on our side. Nine shows in this is the ninth show it's rained on. Nine out of nine. How we all doing out there?. It's good to be finally here. Where else would you wanna be other than right here right now. Gonna take you on a little trip tonight. All the way back to 1981, to the new album and stop off right now in 1983 Pyromania."

Joe Elliott - Kick Intro

"Thank you. Thank you very much. Oh it's good to be here at last. We tried two years ago, didn't work. tried last year, didn't work."

"Here we are now this year all of us here. Let's make some noise for Joan jett And The Blackhearts who started everything off. And Poison. And Motley Crue."

"Being back with this weather it's insane. You know the most precarious thing for me is not getting struck by lightning. This stage is lethal. I'm shit scared of getting on YouTube for face planting. No way that's gonna happen. Ever, ever!."

"But you know what two years ago I said we were supposed to be here. We couldn't come because of the lockdown, because of that virus. And it made a mess of the world. It made a mess of everybody's plans. And ours of course."

"We couldn't get together so we didn't wanna let the year go to waste. So we couldn't tour so we decided we would remotely make an album. 15 brand new songs and we did it. We f**king pulled it off. We actually made a new album."

"It's called Diamond Star Halos. We'd love to play you the first song that we released from that album right now. This one's called K.I.C.K....Kick!."

Joe Elliott - Armageddon It Intro

"Let's have a lok at ya. There you go look at that!. And look at this. All the way from Belfast in Northern Ireland."

"Make a lot of noise please for Mr. Vivian Campbell!."

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech

"Jacksonville. Thanks for waiting. Thanks for coming. Thanks for having us. We'll see you next time. Goodnight."
