PHIL COLLEN Says DEF LEPPARD Planning Orchestral Las Vegas Residency/European Shows

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has given a new interview and mentioned exciting upcoming live plans.

The Summer Stadium Tour 2024 was first announced on 7th December 2023.

The tour started on 6th July 2024 in St. Louis, MO and ended on 10th September in Salt Lake City, UT.

Las Vegas Residency

Phil has spoken in a new interview about the current single, the 2024 tour, guitars, Mutt Lange and the Pyromania album.

He was also asked about upcoming plans.

Phil suggests that third Las Vegas residency is being planned for Las Vegas.

This time featuring the band playing with a full orchestra.

Drastic Symphonies

This seems very likely of course to tie in with the 'Drastic Symphonies' orchestral album released in May 2023.

An album that featured the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and two songs (Gods Of War/Kings Of The World) have been used as the intro/outro music for the 2024 tour.

The band played briefly for three songs with the BBC Concert Orchestra in London in the same month performing two songs from the album and a David Bowie cover.

Residency News

Joe first suggested the possibility of a residency and playing with an orchestra on the day the album was announced.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2 in March 2023 Joe said a return to Las Vegas was being planned in either 2024/2025.

He also, off the top of his head, suggested they might play with an orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in the future.

Phil later talked in another interview of the possibility of live shows with an orchestra and rumours have suggested since 2023 that the next Las Vegas residency would be in 2025 at the earliest.

As for the venue The Sphere seems unlikely if they play up to 11, 12 or more dates.

European Shows

Phil also says the band have some 'European things' to do.

This suggests at least some European shows may be played in 2025 which 'may' include festivals.

The 'Hits Vegas/Sin City Residency' was preceded by UK/European festivals in June/July 2019.

Canadian Tour?

2019 also saw a full 'Hits Canada' Canadian tour and Joe hinted at a return in Episode 4 of the Behind The Stadium Tour videos.

"Our one and only Canadian show on this particular tour. We will do a full Canadian tour one day I promise you guys. Just wasn't on the horizon for this particular tour."
