Rick Savage - Instagram 28th September 2022 Quotes

"I gotta say I’m not big on saving memorabilia but this pass will stay with me forever. Such a rollercoaster of emotions that words cannot do justice."

"Although I’ve witnessed it many times, the performance of Brian May doing Love of my Life was from another world and an incredible tribute to Taylor and his family."

"Such an honour to be part of it all. I’ve got a few pics to share but that’s for later…. Thank you to everyone involved xx."

Def Leppard - Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert Program 2022 Quotes

Phil Collen

"I’d known Taylor since I moved to Orange County in 1990. I used to see him at the local guitar store. I was shocked when one day Def Leppard was performing on Top Of The Pops, a British music television show, and I heard a voice yelling, “Phil!”. It was Taylor."

"I asked him, “What are you doing here?!" and he said, “I’m playing drums with Alanis Morissette!” From that moment on he just kept moving onwards and upwards."

"Later it was the Foo Fighters and we’d still see each other. I’d see Taylor boogie boarding at Laguna Beach, at rehearsals or at event shows or wherever."

"We’d just always bump into each other but no matter where we were Taylor was always his same wonderful, humble self - that guy."

"I’d seen and spoken to Taylor just before they went out on tour. I’d gone down to their rehearsal to hang with the guys. For me it’s a shock and terrible thing that he’s just not here anymore so I’m still reeling from all of this."

Joe Elliott

"None of us want to be doing this. We’d all rather he was still here, but looking at the line ups for both the UK & US shows goes to show how much love there is for the force of nature that was Taylor Hawkins."

"I had the pleasure of meeting Taylor just a couple of times at a rehearsal space that both DL & The Foos use, & hand on heart, a more friendly guy you could never hope to meet."

Rick Savage

"I never really knew Taylor and yet in a way I feel as though I’ve known him for years. That was the magnetism of the man."

"Rarely has there been someone with such a passion and natural talent for everything he did. A bright light has disappeared with his passing."
