Single Notes By dltourhistory
The first single from 'High 'n' Dry' was released in August 1981.
'Let It Go' was released a few weeks after the album and the band's July UK tour.
A picture from that tour was used on the front cover.
The single did not chart in the UK.
The song was originally called "When The Rain Falls" before being re-worked.
It was the first song worked on with producer Mutt Lange in pre-production, as revealed in the 1987 official biography book 'Animal Instinct'.
The live pic was taken in Liverpool as the band filmed three videos from the album.
The back cover was black at the top with the Def Leppard logo across it.
Below that it was white with both songs listed in black writing plus an ad for the album.
The patch featured the Def Leppard logo writing on a black background.
The US promo 7" single featured both the album version and a shorter edited version.
The release date has been amended from 3rd August to 21st August via a Phonogram Records press release announcing new singles from the label on the same date.
Other singles released on the same day and mentioned were The Teardrop Explodes 'Passionate Friend' and The Lambrettas 'Decent Town'.
