Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"This week coming to you all the way from Los Angeles in California where the band are ensconced, I love that word, ensconced in the rehearsal room."

"Prepping for this summer tour that we have with Journey and the Steve Miller band and occasionally Heart or Cheap Trick."

"It's gonna be a hell of a show as is tonight's show with you guys right here."

"I've only got the 60 minutes, the one hour, so let's get cracking."

"This is T. Rex."

T. Rex

"Here from the box set which is simply titled 1973, that is T. Rex."

"What they've done here is they've taken everything that the band recorded in that particular year and put it all together in this one brilliant box set."

"Notably the two albums Tanks and Zinc Alloy and The Hidden Riders of Tomorrow which oddly enough wasn't released until 1974 but recorded in 73 so they get away with it."

"And all those fantastic b-sides that Mark Bolan and T. Rex had during that period in their career."

"One of which we just heard the song Sunken Rags."

The Tubes

"And before that we heard The Tubes from 1979 produced by Todd Rundgren."

"From the album Remote Control we heard TV Is King."

Punishment Of Luxury

"Okay so put down the remote control because this crowd have got one of their own."

"This is The Tubes."

"I've been hearing that song often in The Limit Club in Sheffield back in the late 70s and thinking what is this?."

"It's like a punk Sparks."

"Really love that song."

"From a box set called Puppet Life, The Complete Recordings, that is Punishment Of Luxury with Puppet Life."

Television

"And from the abbreviation to the actual word itself, this is Television."

"And before that another band that came out of New York, Television from their eponymously titled third album from 1992."

"We heard the song Call Mr. Lee."

New York Dolls

"From the 1973 debut album, that is the New York Dolls who hailed from, guess where, yes New York."

"The song we heard, Frankenstein."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show all the way from Los Angeles in California this week."

"Coming up, some classic Pink Floyd."

Pink Floyd

"And before that Pink Floyd from 1975, title track of that absolutely wonderful album, Wish You Were Here."

Thomas Walsh

"The opening line of that song is, I've said it once, I'll say it again."

"Well I've said it many times and I will say it again."

"Tommy Walsh is one talented guy."

"He actually is Pugwash."

"What he did during lockdown, he just decided to put an album out under his own name called The Rest Is History and I just can't stop playing it."

"Absolutely brilliant record."

"The song we just heard, Another Lesson In Life."

Ian Hunter

"Well considering this next gentleman just celebrated his 85th birthday, I think it's only fair that we play a song from his most recent album."

"This is Ian Hunter."

"And before that Happy Birthday Ian Hunter, still making records at his age is just absolutely inspiring to people like myself."

"From the album Defiant Part 2 we just heard People."

Sensational Alex Harvey Band

"An absolutely cracking cover of a Jethro Tull song there by the sensational Alex Harvey band and from their album Penthouse Tapes we just heard Love Story."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Los Angeles in sunny California is about it for this week."

"Been a real pleasure as always."

"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time from exactly the same location."

"So until then I shall leave you with this, and why not."

"Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap is the album."

"The band of course is AC/DC."

"And this is a song that Def Leppard used to play in our very very early days and we actually did it live a couple of times in the Wapentake in Sheffield."

"This is Problem Child."

"Until next week, see ya!."
