Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"Always a pleasure to be with you."

"We've got 60 minutes, one hour to play some great stuff."

"We've got some obviously some pretty classic stuff, but I've also got a lot of brand new material tonight, including this one."

"It's brand new from 1972."

David Bowie

"From a box set called Rock and Roll Star which is coming out in a couple of weeks time."

"That is David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars unearthed very recently by Ken Scott who didn't even produce it."

"It was recorded on the very same day that David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars recorded John I'm Only Dancing which was essentially their second hit after Starman."

"One of many unreleased tracks on this bog set and this is a fantastic raw and much faster version of a song that David recorded a year later for the Pin Ups album."

"It is a cover of the old classic Who track I Can't Explain."

"Wonderful stuff."

VIVAS

"Now here's some more brand new music, but this time it's from 2024."

"This is VIVAS."

"And before that brand new VIVAS who we play a lot on this show because of the connection to the Savage family."

"It's a brand new and wonderful song called Step Out."

Loko Parentis

"That my friends is a little-known Irish band called Loko Parentis who have actually been around for about 25 years."

"I'm pally with the lead singer Paul O'Mahony because we're both massive Mott The Hoople fans."

"It's from a compilation album just released called Dream Longer Than You Sleep."

"The song is Dream Revolution."

Slash

"Let's keep the new stuff going and I love the fact that I can play this because this is an old Motown classic, sung by Demi Lovato, but I can play it because this is Slash."

"And before that we heard Slash from his brand new album Orgy Of The Damned with loads of contributions from various different departments in rock and pop."

"Billy Gibbons being one of them and Demi Lovato on the song that we just heard."

"It was a huge hit for The Temptations on Motown."

"It was originally recorded by another Motown band called The Undisputed Truth as it happens."

"We've all heard The Temptations version but it's quite Slash doing something like that."

"The song is Papa Was A Rolling Stone."

UFO

"I have to say it's very cool to see this band getting so much love in this new very strange detective show featuring Colin Farrell called Sugar."

"In one scene he walks into a bar and there's this lady sat at the bar getting blind drunk and singing that song at the top of her voice."

"You don't see that every day."

"They also get mentioned in a couple of episodes later on in the series so it just goes to show that somewhere in the script writing department there's a big UFO fan."

"And there we just heard them from their 1978 album Obsession with Cherry."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"Coming up, we're going to have a momentary lapse of reason with Pink Floyd."

Pink Floyd

"And before that we heard Pink Floyd from A Momentary Lapse Of Reason but this is the 2019 remix which pretty much got rid of those big 80s sounds that they were using at the time."

"The song we heard, The Dogs Of War."

The Police

"Well as soon as Da Leps have got this US tour with Journey and Steve Miller and occasionally Heart and Cheap Trick, coming up in about five weeks time."

"I have been hitting the peloton and the cross trainer quite heavily for the last couple of weeks."

"And watching DVDs as I do it and one of them that I've been watching a lot is the 2007 reunion of The Police called Certifiable."

"I have to say the live version of the song that we just heard is absolutely spectacular but I wanted to play the studio version because I think it's even more spectacular."

"From the Message In A Box, the complete collection of, we just heard The Police with Synchronicity II."

Ghost

"Now here's a band that's very influenced by the 80s but with a 21st century twist and I've not played them for a while, I thought it's about time I did."

"This is Ghost."

"And before that we heard Ghost, a wonderful band."

"The album is Impera, the song we heard, Kaisarion."

Ozzy Osbourne

"Sending out loads of love to Ozzy Osbourne who has been suffering a lot of health issues recently."

"It was great to read earlier this week that he's rekindled his friendship with Giza Butler which had become, how shall we say, fragmented over the last decade or so."

"And let's hope that he really can pull this together to do that final show at the Aston Villa Football Ground."

"Whether it be this year or next, it doesn't really matter as long as he can do it."

"So fingers crossed for Ozzy Osbourne who we just heard there from the album Diary Of A Madman, the song we heard Over the Mountain."

Show Outro

"And that, my friends, is about it for this week."

"It's been a real pleasure as always but hey, you knew that already."

"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time so please don't go anywhere."

"Don't touch that dial, where else would you want to be other than right here on Planet Rock."

"Let's go out with something very uplifting."

"This from an album called Electric Blood is The Biters with a song called Low Lives In High Definition."

"Until next week, see ya!."
