Show Intro
"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show, right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."
"Hope you're all well."
"Tonight is a very, very celebratory show for me because it is my 750th show for the station."
"Can you believe that the good folk at Planet Rock have allowed me to do this 750 times?."
"And I genuinely hope they allow me to do it 750 more because I have an absolute ball doing this."
"It's going to be chock-a-block full of some of my favourite tunes of all time, but guess what?."
"There's no T-Rex, there's no Bowie, there's no Mott, well, there's no Mott The Hoople, there's no Ian Hunter, there's no Who, there's no Beatles, but there are some cracking tunes like this one from Lone Star."
Lone Star
"Yes, the soundtrack of my life is peppered with some very magical and mysterious music."
"I've got like all the epic stuff, I like the pop stuff, I like the heavy stuff, I get all sorts of things, acoustic, electric, it doesn't matter."
"That one, I suppose we could call it like prog, I suppose, 1976, even John Peel said that they were going to be the biggest band in the world."
"Sadly it didn't happen, but they were magnificent, at least on that second album when they introduced John Sloman as their lead singer."
"The album is called Firing On All Six, the band is Lone Star, the song we heard, The Bells Of Berlin."
KISS
"So let's head from Wales, which is where Lone Star originated from, all the way to New York."
"This is KISS."
"And before that, also from 1976, we heard KISS, the album is Destroyer, the song we heard, that amazing opening track, Detroit Rock City."
Mott
"As I said in my intro at the top of the show, no Mott The Hoople tonight, but absolutely some Mott."
"That was the second album in 1976, we just heard the title track Shouting And Pointing."
Rod Stewart
"In fact, all three songs so far have been from 1976, so let's break that mold and go back to 1971 and the first album I ever bought with my own pocket money."
"This is Rod Stewart."
"Before that, Rod Stewart from 1971, the first song I ever bought with my own pocket money, two pounds and 11p and yes, I still have it."
"We heard the title track of Every Picture Tells A Story."
Jethro Tull
"The seven inch single, had five tracks on it, now that is value for money."
"Thank you Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull."
"It is actually taken from their classic collection Living In The Past."
"The song that we just heard there, Life's A Long Song."
"That's the new mix as it happens."
"You are listening to the 750th Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."
"Coming up, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band would like to lay their hands on you."
Sensational Alex Harvey Band
"Timeless stuff there from the sensational Alex Harvey band or Saab to their friends."
"The album is 1973's Next, the song that we heard, magnificent bit of work called the Faith Healer."
The Rolling Stones
"Now this next song I've chosen because the lead vocal performance is probably my favourite snotiest, full of attitude lead vocal that I've ever heard committed to tape."
"This is The Rolling Stones."
"And before that the Rolling Stones, as I said in my intro, one of the greatest vocal performances of all time by a rock singer Mick Jagger of course."
"The album is Beggars Banquet, the song we heard Street Fighting Man."
Doctors Of Madness
"Drums, bass, rhythm guitar played by a gentleman with blue hair and a violin."
"They weren't exactly your standard rock band, but my God, they were absolutely fantastic."
"I was introduced to them when they were the opening act for Be Bop Deluxe in 1976 and I never looked back."
"They are the Doctors Of Madness from their second album Figments Of Emancipation."
"We just heard the song Out."
Show Outro
"And that my friends from this very special show is about it for this week."
"Been a real pleasure as always."
"It's been a real pleasure 750 times and let's hope for many, many more."
"I shall leave you this week with this one."
"We just heard Street Fighting Man, we're going fighting again and don't do this at home folks and don't do it in the streets."
"It is after all just a song."
"From the album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, this is Elton John and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."
"Merry Christmas everyone."
"See you next week."
