Show Intro
"Evening all and welcome once again to, you know what, the Joe Elliott Show."
"You know where."
"On the wonderful Planet Rock, but this week it is actually coming to you all the way from Nashville in Tennessee."
"Home supposedly of country music, but actual fact this city rocks."
"As will this show mostly."
"For the next 60 minutes or so I'm going to play you some wonderful stuff in my humble opinion, starting off with one of the bands that we're on tour with."
"This is Journey."
Journey
"Yes occupying what we like to call the middle spot on this particular tour, that is Journey taken from the 1983 album Frontiers with my favourite song that they ever did."
"It is Chain Reaction."
Steve Miller Band
"Well that's one band that's on tour with us this summer, here's the other two."
"Starting off with Steve Miller."
"And before that welcome Steve Miller."
"Met him the other night for the very first time."
"What a wonderful gentleman he is and what a great show he puts on."
"For an 81 year old guy, he's got a lot of energy."
"We just heard him there from the Ultimate Hits with Jungle Love."
Cheap Trick
"Stuff from a marvellous band, Cheap Trick, yeah they're on tour with us this summer."
"They do about seven of the 26 shows and it's always great to see them, they're wonderful people and a fantastic band and they're from the album Standing On The Edge, we just heard the title track."
Def Leppard
"While I did say at the top of the show that this week it mostly rocks."
"I'm going to just step aside a little bit into the world of, maybe not so much country, but Bluegrass."
"The Queen of Bluegrass, Alison Krauss, joined Def Leppard on this next song."
"And before that we heard Def Leppard from 2022, the album Diamond Star Halos."
"Featuring the Queen of Bluegrass, Nashville's very own Alison Krauss taking that song to another level."
"The song is This Guitar."
UFO
"So earlier this week myself and Phil were having a discussion about all things Michael Schenker."
"And how wonderful his contribution was to that band and I mentioned this song that we just heard because of the guitar solo alone."
"It's split into three with three different tonal sounds and it really helps lift the song to a total different level to anything that they'd ever achieved in the past in my humble opinion."
"It's a wonderful bit of work, it is from the 1977 album Lights Out which was produced by Ron Nevison, may have had something to do with it."
"The song is Try Me."
"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the Wonderful Planet Rock."
"This week coming to you all the way from Nashville in Tennessee."
"Coming up, the sensational Alex Harvey Band are looking for someone to put their..(audio cut off)."
Sensational Alex Harvey Band
"And before that from the next album back in 1973 we heard the sensational Alex Harvey Band with that wonderful bit of work called The Faith Healer."
Be Bop Deluxe
"Well I was waxing lyrically about Michael Schenker before the break but wow on that particular guitarist it is Bill Nelson when he was in Bebop Deluxe back in 1976."
"The album is Sunburst Finish, the song we heard, Crying To The Sky."
The Who
"Right then, who's up for a bit of a bargain?."
"Yep, me too, this is The Who."
"And before that all the way back to 1971, the greatest record that they ever made in my humble opinion."
"it is The Who from Who's Next with Bargain."
Thin Lizzy
"You know when you've got an album that's got the likes of The Boys Are Back in Town, Emerald and the title track, sometimes the other seven songs just don't get enough oxygen."
"Well I thought 'bout time one of them did, I love that song."
"It is from the Jailbreak album back in 1976."
"It is Thin Lizzy with Romeo And The Lonely Girl."
Show Outro
"And that my friends, all the way from Nashville in Tennessee is about it for this week."
"It's been a real pleasure as always."
"I shall be back with you next week all the way from Pittsburgh."
"So until then I shall leave you with this."
"Believe it or not, the drummer went on to join Culture Club, but back in the day he was a punk and the band were London and this is Everyone's a Winner."
"Until next week, see ya!."
