DEF LEPPARD Live 2026 Tour In San Salvador (Show Report/Setlist)

Def Leppard played a Live 2026 tour show in San Salvador, El Salvador last night with 20 songs performed.

The show took place at the 53,400 capacity Estadio Cuscatlán / Cuscatlán Stadium.

The band's first time at this venue.

The first visit to this city since April 1997.

Return To El Salvador

The band finally made their way back to a country first played 29 years ago in April 1997 on the Slang tour.

Taking their private jet from Guadalajara in Mexico over to San Salvador in El Salvador.

A journey taking them south west over Guatemala and a distance of just over 1,000 miles.

And from an indoor arena to an outdoor stadium and now into Central America.

The over 53,000 capacity Estadio Cuscatlán (Cuscatlán Stadium).

The 53,400 capacity for football matches is apparently the "largest spectator capacity in Central America and the Caribbean".

Sadly not at full capacity for this show with the stage set sideways on and to one end which greatly reduced the crowd size.

The floor section in front of the stage covered in seats rather than being a full standing area.

A possible 40,000 plus crowd was probably in the region of 20,000 plus.

Still a sizeable crowd of fans who rarely get the chance to see the band.

And after the cold in Mexico temperatures of 25C/77F greeted the band on their return,

Opening Band

Kicking things off at 7pm were local band Souls Of Steel who formed in 2021 (name spelled as Soul Of Steel on the show poster).

Their debut album was called 'Songs Of Steel' and they have since released a second one called 'The World is Mine'.

The band feature - Benjamín López (Bass/backing vocals), Daniel Jiménez (Lead guitar), Oscar Trujillo (Drums) and Sebastián Lorenzana (Lead vocals).

Their half hour set included the song 'The World Is Mine (And Yours Ain't)'.

Extreme

Another hour long set by Extreme played from 8 to 9pm.

Saturday Night In El Salvador

With the clocks changing in the UK a 4:30am start turned into a 3:30am one or 9:30pm local time for the band in San Salvador,

A smaller lighting rig here but still a stadium sized show for the El Salvador fans to enjoy.

Less room on the main stage but still room for the cross-shaped Thrust stage in front of it.

Starting again with 'Rejoice' which made its live debut here along with many other songs.

29 years between shows also meant debuts here for 'Personal Jesus', 'Just Like '73', 'Rock On', 'White Lightning' and 'Promises'.

The other songs performed at this show were all played at the 1997 show.

Including 'Two Steps Behind' which was once again added in before the usual three song encore.

A third appearance for the song on this tour leg and another loud sing-a-long by the fans as seen/heard in the Fan Videos.

Joe acknowledged the length of time since they were last here during his introduction for 'Let's Get Rocked' with:

"29 years since we last played here."

Followed by:

"We won't leave it so long, I promise.".

So they may be back again sooner rather than later,

Another triumphant night on this last tour leg of 2026 and a long overdue revisit has been ticked off the schedule.

Next up another two day break before they make their way to a country they've never played before.

19 Song Setlist

'Rejoice', 'Personal Jesus', 'Just Like '73', 'Rock On', 'White Lightning' and 'Promises' were all played here for the first time.

San Salvador History

The first show in this city took place in April 1997 on the Slang tour.

An indoor show at the National Gymnasium.

And then a VERY long wait for the band to return in 2026.

Last night's show was the 2nd performance in San Salvador.

The next Def Leppard show takes place on 27th October in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
