DEF LEPPARD In OCEAN CITY, MD At BOARDWALK ROCK 2025 (Show Report/Setlist)

Def Leppard played a 2025 tour show last night in Ocean City, MD with 18 songs performed.

The show took place at the 55,000 capacity Ocean City Inlet Beach.

The first show by the band in this city and at this new event.

The second of the two May shows before a month long gap to the next show in June.

Back In The USA

Yes a return to the USA for the first time since ending the 2024 tour in stormy and wet conditions in Salt Lake City, UT.

(Not the first U.S. show scheduled this year but the first one actually played.)

There was a (secret) quick return in Nashville in October minus Vivian but now the "boy who puts the fast in Belfast' is well and truly back.

Back to normality but not a normal venue for this show.

A first visit to Ocean City and the very scenic Ocean City Inlet Beach for the inaugural Boardwalk Rock festival.

Three stages with Def Leppard headlining the appropriately named THUNDER stage.

Unlike recent outdoor stadium experiences in this country no sign of any thunderstorms or 'Show Pause' messages on the screens.

Rock On The Beach

Other acts on the Thunder stage kicked off the day with Kat Von D on first followed by The Struts, Chevelle and then Rob Zombie.

Many other bands played between them on the Bolt and Lightning stages which meant a gap of 90 minutes between Rob Zombie and Def Leppard.

And unlike the last show the start time was accurate with Def Leppard taking the stage at 9:30pm after the sun had gone down.

As the venue name suggested the staging and festival grounds were literally on the beach beside the ocean.

Not a bad location for a festival show to take place in and after the more traditional indoor arena venue in Puerto Rico it was back to the outdoors.

The Thunder stage was clearly much bigger than the last show and that meant bigger side screens.

And in a throwback to the Stadiums tour they also used more video screens on stage below the main screen.

The show started with the usual video intro and straight into 'Rock! Rock!'.

Swiftly followed by 'Rocket' and 'Let's Get Rocked'.

Joe greeted the massive crowd with "Good evening Ocean City!.".

And reportedly a massive crowd of up to 55,000.

Sadly following along online did not go as well as San Juan but eventually some footage and photos showed up.

One thing that was broadcast live was The Thundergod getting to have his big moment at the end of 'Switch 625' on the 'Thunder' stage following another great performance of BOTH.

Another spectacular festival appearance for the band in a great location.

And normal service resumed with Vivian Campbell back where he belongs for the second show in a row.

The man with the "best hat in rock and roll".

And now a month long gap before they rock crowds again in Wisconsin.

18 Song Setlist

A 18 song setlist was played.

'Just Like '73' and...every other song played here for the first time.

'Take What You Want' was not played as the set time was 90 minutes, meaning at least one song had to be cut from the set played in San Juan.

Maryland History

This was the first visit to Maryland since 18th June 2018 in Baltimore, MD at Royal Farms Arena.

The first ever show in this state was on 13th July 1980 in Largo/Landover, MD at Capital Centre on their first ever American tour.

Last night's show was the first performance in Ocean City.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Milwaukee, WI on 19th June.
