Show Intro

"Evening all, welcome once again. It is the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. What a busy week it has been at Elliott Towers since we were last together. We have been mixing some live Def Leppard for a future release. No more details. Gotta keep it secret. I've also been moonlighting on some brand new music from the Doctors Of Madness. Yes I've been helping Richard Strange out on a couple of new songs. And I had the boys over from the Down 'n' Outz. We've been working on album number three coming out hopefully some time next year. To get us in the mood here's some old Down 'n' Outz."

Down 'n' Outz

"Not bad considering that the Down 'n' Outz weren't even supposed to be a band. It was a one-off 45 minute performance opening for Mott The Hoople in 2009 supposedly. But it grew and grew thanks to being press ganged by the audience in the bar afterwards. Please make an album. And it ballooned and we are now, sort of, into album three which as I mentioned earlier should be some time next year."

Bad Company

"Also this week I had the great pleasure of being able to talk to Mick Ralphs. First time I have spoke to him since his stroke in 2016. I mentioned to him that he does get mentioned on the show often and he said to pass on his regards to all Mott The Hoople and Bad Company and Mick Ralphs fans out there. That have been wishing him well. He has been receiving letters and I just think once again it's nice to be able to put it out there that he knows he's loved and thought of. So let's listen to some classic Mick Ralphs music."

"And before that the alternative version. Different vocal performance from Paul Rodgers. Different guitar from Mick. The song Good Lovin' Gone Bad originally featured on the Straight Shooter album back in 1974. The band of course Bad Company and an ongoing love to Mick Ralphs."

Mott The Hoople

"The band are Mott The Hoople. It's 1973. The album is Mott. And sung by Mick Ralphs we just heard a song called I'm A Cadillac. Which is coupled with a nice bit of instrumental music. Also of course by Mick called El Camino Dolo Roso."

UFO

"And so from one red hot guitar player to another. This is UFO."

"And before that from 1977, their breakthrough album Obsession, we heard UFO with Hot 'n' Ready."

Sweet

"Not that they should ever have to, but proving without a doubt that there was more to Sweet than Wigwam Bam and Littly Willy. That is from the Action compilation The Ultimate Story. The song Yesterday's Rain. Fantastic stuff."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is time for a little break and when we come back, we're off to visit the hot city with the Sensational Alex Harvey Band."

Sensational Alex Harvey Band

"And before that the Sensational Alex Harvey Band from 1974. Absolutely magnificent drama. From the album Impossible Dream we heard the Hot City Symphony Part 2."

Doctors Of Madness

"As I mentioned at the top of the show. I was moonlighting this week with the Doctors Of Madness on one of a couple of new songs they've written. Now all we've gotta do is figure out a way to get them released. So if there's anybody in record world land that's a big fan of the Doctors and wants to release their song. Get in touch. We just heard there though from 1978, their third and final album Sons Of Survival. The title track."

The Kinks

"So from one eccentric band to another. This is The Kinks."

"And before that we heard from the Ultimate Collection The Kinks, with a very eccentric track, called Wonderboy."

The Small Faces

"I know what some of you are thinking and you'd be right. But in fairness to Mr. Robert Plant he has said on many, many occasions that as a kid growing up he was enormously influenced by one Mr. Steve Marriott. And that's the guy we just heard there with The Small Faces from 1968. A few months before Whole Lotta Love was recorded. The song You Need Loving. In fact it's from a Blues standard. So fairplay and not as if there aren't thousands of Robert Plant sound a likes out there. So it's a - goes round in circles."

Delta Deep

"So from a song that was influenced by the blues to one that's absolutely steeped in it. This is Delta Deep."

"And before that from his eponymous. Love that word, eponymous. Delta Deep their debut album and the song Bang The Lid."

The Clash

"Originally recorded back in the early 60s by a band called the Bobby Fuller Four that is The Clash from their debut album in 1977. the song I Fought The Law."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It has been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time doing exactly the same thing."

"That just leaves me with one thing left to do. And that is to wish Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 92nd birthday. So let's leave her with something to jive around to in the bedroom with her husband. This is the Ramones and Blitzkrieg Bop. Until next week see ya!."
