The venue is located in the South of Chula Vista which is 9.8 miles South East of San Diego city centre.
It was opened in July 1998 as Coors Amphitheatre.
It was them named as Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre from 2008 to 2012, Sleep Train Amphitheatre from 2012 to 2017 and Mattress Firm Amphitheatre until 2018.
It 2018 it was renamed as North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre.
