The venue is located within a complex of venues in the Fair Park area of the city that also includes the nearby Fair Park Coliseum arena and the 92,100 capacity Cotton Bowl Stadium where Vivian Campbell played his first live show with Whitensake in June 1987.
Fair Park is around 2.8 miles to the East of the city centre.
It was opened in July 1988 as Coca-Cola Starplex Amphitheatre.
From 1999 to 2000 it was known as Starplex Amphitheatre.
From 2000 to 2008 it was known as Smirnoff Music Centre.
From 2008 to 2011 it was known as Superpages.com Center.
From 2011 to 2017 it was known as Gexa Energy Pavilion.
From 2017 to 2018 it was known as Starplex Pavilion.
Since 2018 it has been called Dos Equis Pavilion.
This concert was postponed from 20th July due to the death of Joe Elliott's father.
Heart could not make it to the new show due to a prior commitment.
New wave punk band The Romantics replaced them on the bill.
