The venue is located in the Hindmarsh area of the city centre.

It was opened in July 1991.

The venue was redeveloped in 2010 with the new front entrance shown on the Street View below known as The Orb.

'MLLAM' and 'Rock On' were replaced by 'Let It Go' and 'GOW'.
