It was first opened in July 1995 as the NYNEX Arena.
From 1998 to 2011 it was known as the Manchester Evening News Arena.
From 2011 to 2013 it was called Manchester Arena and again from 2015 onwards.
From 2013 to 2015 it was called Phones 4u Arena
The venue reopened in September 2017 having closed in May after the terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert.
