The venue was located with in HemisFair Park across the road from the Alamodome in the centre of the city.
It was opened in April 1968 and was closed in May 1995 before being demolished in June of that year.
The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center has now expanded over where the arena once stood.
The venue was also sometimes known as the HemisFair Arena.
The band visited The Alamo building during the day and were photographed there by Ross Halfin.
