It was opened in November 1975.
It was named as The Summit from 1975 to 1998 and then Compaq Center from 1998 to 2003 when it was closed as a sports arena.
In 2005 this venue was taken over by a local church and is now named as Lakewood Church Central Campus after being called the Lakewood International Center for two years.
