The venue is located in the city centre and very close to the Liverpool Lime Street train station.
It was opened in October 1938 with an Art Deco style.
A new building which had replaced the first, destroyed by fire in 1933. The original Royal Court Theare building dated back all the way to 1881.
The venue was where the three 'High 'n' Dry' promo videos were filmed in July 1981.
A decent audience recording exists for this show with Joe's voice sounding very rough (which would be a sign of things to come on this tour).
