It was opened in November 1974 as the Northlands Coliseum.
From 1995 to 1998 it was then called the Edmonton Coliseum, Skyreach Center from 1998 to 2003 and Rexall Place from 2003 to 2018 when it changed back to being Northlands Coliseum.
The venue was closed in January 2018 with concerts then taking place at the new Rogers Arena in the city.
