The venue is located to the South East of the city centre and within the grounds of the University Of Leicester and not far from the city's main train station and the King Power football stadium home to Leicester City F.C..
It was opened in 1913.
Most of the adverts and posters for the tour printed the venue name incorrectly as 'De Montford Hall'.
It's likely the band played the Auditorium setup with 2,2000 capacity rather than the larger 7,000 capacity Amphitheater setup.
The opener for this show was Quartz, a New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band based in Birmingham.
They featured Mike "Taffy" Taylor (lead vocals), Mick Hopkins (guitars), Derek Arnold (bass) and Malcolm Cope (drums).
Their 1977 debut self-titled album was produced by Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.
The band's second album 'Stand Up And Fight' was released in June 1980 and they also supported bands like Iron Maiden, Rush, Saxon, UFO and Gillan.
They were also on the bill at Reading 1980.
