Show Intro

"Evening all, and welcome once again to, oh yes, yes indeed, the Joe Elliott Show right here on, you know where, the wonderful Planet Rock, always a pleasure."

"What have we got lined up for you tonight, well the usual 60 minutes, the usual one hour, and hopefully the usual great music."

"Starting off with this beauty from Eddie Vedder."

Eddie Vedder

"Love that song, absolutely wonderful stuff from Eddie Vedder."

"The album is Earthling, the song that we heard, The Power of Right."

"And doesn't it sound great, and I think a lot of that is down to the fact that it was produced by one Mr. Andrew Watt."

The Rolling Stones

"Who also produced this."

"And before that we heard the Rolling Stones, from that wonderful latest album Hackney Diamonds, with Bite My Head Off."

"Which of course features Sir Paul McCartney on bass guitar."

Uriah Heep

"So as this for a spooky coincidence, as I was reading on the Planet Rock website as it happens, about the farewell tour in February of 25, of Uriah Heap, who pings into my inbox other than Mr. Mick Box, up so you couldn't make it up."

"Absolutely true, the very second I was reading about him, bang, he emails me."

"So I had no choice but to play him this week, because when a coincidence like that happens, you've got to take full advantage of it."

"And there they are, the wonderful Uriah Heap, from their 1972 album Demons and Wizards, with a song that I'm sure they will be playing on their farewell tour, Traveller in Time."

Status Quo

"Now, so we just played two bands that have been knocking around for 50, 60 years, here's another one, this is the mighty Quo."

"And before that Status Quo from an album called Mar Kelly's Greasy Spoon, when they went from the psychedelic sixties to the seventies Quo that we all know and love, it's Junior's Wailing."

Alice Cooper

"Alice Goes Solo Shock Horror, well it's his voice, but a totally different band of course, from about 1975 I think it was, it's the title track of Alice Cooper Goes to Hell."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"Coming up we're off to Shangri-La with The Kinks.

The Kinks

"And before that we heard The Kinks from the album Arthur or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire, with a wonderful stereo version of the song Shangri-La."

The Beatles

"Well I did mention Sir Paul McCartney earlier on in the show when he guested with the Rolling Stones on the song Bite My Head Off."

"But there he is in his original beat combo, The Beatles, with what was two years ago, a brand new song."

"In fact it's actually a demo, it's a John Lennon demo, that through the fantastic Peter Jackson technology down in New Zealand."

"They managed to clean up and use, kind of like they'd done before with Free As A Bird, but so much better quality this time."

"And it's the bonus track on the remixed version of the Beatles 67 to 70 compilation album, the song is Now and Then."

"And I chose that one because he's playing it live on his current tour."

Doctors Of Madness

"Right now it's time to have a look through the lens of the Doctors of Madness."

"And before that the Doctors of Madness from their second album in 1977, the album is Figments of Emancipation, the song that we heard In Camera."

Ian Hunter

"I think most Ian Hunter fans would agree that the man behind the shades got his mojo back on this particular album, 13 years ago it is now, 2001."

"The album is Rant, the song that we heard, which to my ears is very reminiscent of Hoople's 1974 classic Marionette song, we just heard Morons."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week, it's been a real pleasure as always."

"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time, so don't go anywhere, why would you ever want to?."

"Until then, I'll leave you with this, the born again savage that is Little Steven, with his disciples of soul."

"Who just happened to be, on drums, one Mr Jason Bonham, and on bass, Mr Adam Clayton, from U2."

"This is Guns, Drugs and Gasoline."

"Until next week, see ya!."
