Show Intro

"Evening all, welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show, right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"Great to be with you once again, all the way from San Diego this week."

"We've been based in LA for about a week or so, so we just nipped down the hill to Southern California, the very sunny San Diego."

"What have I got for you tonight? 60 minutes of, in my humble opinion, some wonderful music."

"And starting off with, Lynyrd Skynyrd."

Lynyrd Skynyrd

"I always loved the fact that they named themselves after their P.E. teacher."

"Well, sort of. From the album pronounced Lynyrd Skynyrd, named after Leonard Skinner, we just heard the wonderful Gimme Three Steps."

ELO

"Well, he's literally just started his Thank You and Goodnight Tour of the US."

"Let's hope that he expands it and takes it over to the UK as well."

"He is Jeff Lynne."

"This is ELO."

"And before that, fellow Brummies, ELO."

"Jeff Lynne, out on the road, literally just started this week on his Thank You and Goodnight Tour of the US."

"And as I said in the intro, let's hope he brings it over to the UK as well."

"And I'm really happy to read that that particular song that we just heard is in the set."

"It is 10538 Overture."

Black Sabbath

"Well, it's just massive, isn't it?."

"It's just absolutely huge."

"It is Black Sabbath."

"The title track of the album, Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath."

Wizzard

"Well, from two Brummie bands to a third Brummie band."

"And this one features a gentleman that was actually in ELO with Jeff Lynne for just a little while."

"This is Roy Wood's Wizzard."

"And before that, we heard Wizzard featuring the incredibly talented Mr. Roy Wood, who started off with The Move and then for a short while, ELO."

"And then, of course, Wizzard, the song that we just heard, See My Baby Jive."

Elton John

"Marvelous stuff there from Sir Elton John from that wonderful album Madman Across The Water."

"We just heard Holiday Inn."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show all the way this week from San Diego in California."

"Coming up, some extremely prog-tastic..." [cut off by adverts again]

Yes

"And before that, we heard Yes from the Yes album, the 2003 remastered version with a great bit of work called I've Seen All Good People."

"Well, here's a couple of songs that are kind of similar in structure, which is why I wanted to play them back to back."

"I love them both, starting off with Sparks."

Supertramp

"Supertramp there from the album Crime Of The Century, which was produced by Ken Scott."

"A lot more famous, probably, for his work with David Bowie."

"The song that we just heard was also the B-side of their very first hit single Dreamer."

"The song is Bloody Well rRight."

Sparks

"And before that, we heard Sparks from their album Indiscreet, which I believe came out, I think, in 1976."

"The song that we heard In The Future."

Punishment Of Luxury

"I remember hearing that song down the Limit Club in Sheffield back in the late 70s, and it just always intrigued me."

"It's just a great bit of work."

"It is Punishment Of Luxury."

"It's the title track of the box set Puppet Life."

Show Outro

"And that, my friends, is about it for this week, all the way from San Diego."

"It's been a real pleasure, as always."

"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time from the mile-high city that is Denver in Colorado."

"So until then, I shall leave you with this from the 1974 album Phenomenon."

"This is UFO and the single edit of the song Doctor, Doctor."

"Till next week, see ya!."
