Show Intro

"Greetings to you all my fellow music lovers and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott show right here on the most wonderful Planet Rock. Sixty minutes, that's all we have. But my goodness what an eclectic set of songs we have this evening. Starting off with American Death Ray."

American Death Ray

"From an album called Smash Radio Hits. Which it certainly has none of, because 21 years ago this album came out. And I've never heard of it before. Two days ago I got hold of a copy of this. the band are American Death Ray. The song we heard, got some quite reminiscent of Roxy Music saxophones on it, is called Do The Switch."

Roxy Music

"And on that note I've got no choice but to play this."

"And before that Roxy Music, wonderful stuff. I started the show off with a song called Do The Switch that had some Roxy-esque saxophones in it. Before that we heard Roxy themselves from the album For Your Pleasure with Do the Strand."

David Bowie

"It sounds as fresh today as it did when it came out 50 years ago. My goodness. David Bowie And The Spiders From Mars. The album is Aladdin Sane. The song Cracked Actor."

The Pretenders

"Right from their debut album back in 1979 this is The Pretenders."

"And before that we heard The Pretenders. As I said from their debut album way back in 1979. We heard Tattooed Love Boys."

The Rolling Stones

"It's hard to believe that that vocal performance is from an 80 year old man. Mick Jagger my goodness. Sounding as good now as he ever did. From the forthcoming album Hackney Diamonds. That's the second song that they have released. It also features Lady Gaga. And apparently Stevie Wonder on piano. The song is called Sweet Sounds of Heaven. And what a song it is."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up, we're gonna be digging some Unreal Unearth with Hozier."

Hozier

"And before that what a talent Hozier is. From his latest album Unreal Unearth. Oe of the greatest songs I have heard this year. Francesca."

Elton John

"Another album celebrating its 50th anniversary this year is Elton John's Honky Chateau. Thought I'd give something a spin from it. Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters is the song."

Television

"Right then over to a band that I saw live at the Sheffield City Hall back in 1978. And Blondie were the opening act. This is Television."

"And before that we heard the band themselves. Featuring the wonderfully talented Tom Verlaine. From their 1992 album of the same name. Which I believe was their third and final studio album. The song we heard Call Mr. Lee."

Ghost

"It's always fun to play some Ghost. Especially when it's from their covers E.P. Phantomime. That is a song called See No Evil. Originally recorded by Television."

Show Outro

"And that my dear friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I say it every week, but I mean it every week. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time.

"So until then I shall leave you with this. It's a song that I don't think I have heard since I last played it live in 2014. It just came up randomly this week. And I thought hey you know what, why not. From the album My Re-Generation. This is the Down 'n' Outz with our version of the old Mott classic Storm. Until next week see ya!."
