Show Intro
"Well, I don't know what it's like where you are, but where I am, it is absolutely minging."
"So I hope, like the good folk who are visiting Planet Rockstock this weekend, you are indoors and listening to some good music."
"Well, you're about to for the next 60 minutes or so."
"I'm Joe Elliott."
"This is the wonderful Planet Rock, and I hope you have, if you're nice and warm indoors."
"Your favorite tipple in your hand, maybe it's a tall, cool one."
Robert Plant
"That is Robert Plant."
"Released in 1988."
"In fact, I remember we crossed paths in Chicago when Robert came down to say hi, and he came backstage and he heard me in the showers warming up, as I like to call it, making a hell of a hullabaloo, as he likes to call it."
"That is Robert Plant from the album Now and Zen with a wonderful bit of work called Tall Cool One."
Lou Reed
"Right, transforming from his years with the Velvet Underground into a bona fide solo artist."
"From his second album, this is Lou Reed."
"And before that we heard Lou Reed from 1972."
"The album is Transformer, produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson."
"The song we heard, I'm So Free."
Keith Richards
"Quite possibly the best Rolling Stones song that they never recorded."
"That's because it's Keith Richards' solo."
"It is taken from an album called Talk Is Cheap, the song that we heard Take It So Hard."
Genja Ravan
"And talking of Mick Ronson, he features quite heavily on this next tune, as does Ian Hunter."
"This is Genja Ravan."
"And before that a wonderful bit of work from a lady called Genia Raven."
"Maybe Genia, but I think it's Genja Ravan."
"And it's a song that was supposed to be a duet with Van Morrison, but Van couldn't make it."
"So she rapidly rang around and she asked Ian Hunter if he would do it."
"And he said, yeah, sure, I'll do it as long as I can bring Mick Ronson along to play the solo."
"So thank God that happened because had he been done with Van Morrison, we wouldn't have had a guitar solo to die for like we just heard."
"It is Genia Raven, Genja Ravan."
"The album is And I Mean It, the song we heard, Junkman."
The Psychedelic Furs
"I saw that band live for the first time about seven years ago and they were absolutely phenomenal."
"They are the psychedelic furs and they're taken from the album Talk Talk Talk."
"We just heard Dumb Waiters."
"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."
"Coming up, we're off to the psych ward with Ozzy Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne
"And before that, we heard from Ozzy Osbourne, a fantastic album, really, really well produced by Andrew Watt."
"The title track featuring Jeff Beck is what we heard."
"It is Patient Number 9."
Trevor Rabin
"These days it can be found in a version of Yes that features Rick Wakeman, but they're not called Yes."
"It's just whoever's playing on that particular tour."
"There is another version of Yes that doesn't feature Rick Wakeman or the gentleman that we just heard, but both of them were in Yes."
"Rick Wakeman from #72 and the gentleman we just heard from about mid 80s, let's say."
"It is Trevor Rabin, who was once a solo artist."
"And that's when I discovered him after a really good review in Sounds magazine by Geoff Barton."
"It was so good I ran out and bought the album the next day."
"And I'm very glad I did because it's an album that I often go back to and listen to."
"It's his eponymously titled debut album from I think 1978, the song that we just heard Live A Bit."
Graham Parker And The Rumour
"He was once touted as the UK Bruce Springsteen."
"Or maybe the boss was just the US Graham Parker."
"And before that, Graham Parker, taken from an album called Heat Treatment from 1976, produced by Robert John 'Mutt' Lange, the song we heard, Hotel Chambermaid."
Bon Jovi
"Once again, using the voice box to great effect, that is Bon Jovi from their latest album Forever with a song called Living Proof."
Show Outro
"And that, my friends, is about it for this week."
"Been a real pleasure as always."
"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time, so please don't go anywhere."
"Why would you want to anyway?."
"So until then, I shall leave you with this."
"And as we all know, this is not a request show, but just for once, I'm breaking my own rule because this is for a lady all the way from Brazil."
"Her name is Julie and it's her birthday."
"So happy birthday, Julie."
"I hope you like this."
"This is Motorhead with Motorhead."
"Till next week see ya!."
