Show Intro

"Greetings everyone and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Well what a week it has been. Friday night at The Leadmill. An album signing on the Saturday. We rehearsed. We played Bramall Lane on the Monday night and it was absolutely fantastic. And we can not wait to bring this show back to the UK starting July 1st at Wembley. Then up to Liverpool (I think he means Lytham...) and then over to Ireland for a show and then we finish in Glasgow. And if it's anything like Sheffield was it's gonna be epic. Tonight we are in Munich and hopefully that will be just as epic. As is this show. Sixty minutes of you know what. Starting off with KISS."

KISS

"It's not one of their most celebrated albums that's for sure. But that song wow. I remember when Def Leppard first got together and Steve Clark who was much more a Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, Brian Robertson kind of guy, absolutely loved that song. Which just goes to show he had an ear for a good pop melody. As we all do in this band. It's a great little bit of work. the album is Unmasked. it is KISS. The song we heard Is That You?."

The Move

"Now as I mentioned earlier seven days we were in Sheffield. That's the longest time I've spent in Sheffield since I moved to London in 1981. But we had a fantastic time. But I did spent a lot of time in my room recuperating from various events that we were taking part in. And I found a channel on the telly that just played 60s videos. They weren't really videos they were promo films shot back in the 60s. Most of them black and white. But some amazing music was flashing by my eyes day after day. And I thought I would share some of it with you. Starting off with The Move."

"But before that absolutely from the sixties featuring the wonderfully talented Mr. Roy Wood. We heard The Move with Fire Brigade."

David Bowie

"Well spotted all you eagled eared people who went hang on a minute that's 1973. Absolutely correct it is because it's David Bowie's version of The Easybeats Friday On My Mind which came out in the mid sixties. Bowie's version did come out in 1973 on his covers album Pin Ups."

Television

"Right then let's go on a little adventure. All the way over to New York. This is Television."

"And before that Television from their second album back in 1978. The album is Adventure. the song we heard Foxhole."

The Zombies

"Brand new music there from The Zombies. Featuring Rod Argent on keyboards and the still got it Colin Blunstone on lead vocals. What a great singer he is. Absolutely wonderful stuff. The album is called Different Game. The song we heard Merry-Go Round."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming to you this week all the way from Munich in Germany. Coming up they're white, they're fluffy. We wear them and if we're not vegetarian we eat them!. And they're ten minutes long."

Pink Floyd

"Before that we heard Pink Floyd. From the 2018 remix of Animals. With all 10 minutes and 18 seconds of Sheep."

Ghost

"So so very sad to read this week of the passing of the legend that is Tina Turner at the age of 83. She's been ill for a very long time. She passed away at her home in Switzerland. But what a fantastic talent. All the way back to the sixties. With Ike And Tina Turner. With things like Nutbush City Limits. Which I did contemplate playing and I may even give it a spin next week. But I went with the song that we just heard because it literally just dropped on to my doorstep a couple of days ago. And it's the brand new E.P. from Ghost. It's called Phantomime. And Tobias and the boys decided to attack a Tina Turner song that originally featured n the original soundtrack of Mad Max III. It is We Don't Need Another Hero. Rest in peace Tina you deserve it. What an incredible career."

VIVAS

"So from one artist that was an absolute legend to a couple of bands who are just starting their journey. First up VIVAS."

"And before that if you were at Bramall Lane on Monday and you were luck enough to catch the opening act you will have seen Sav's kid. Tyler Savage on guitar with his band VIVAS. And that is their brand new single Out To Get Me. Nepo Baby?. So what. They're both great little bands."

Inhaler

"Now I don't know about you but I find the term Nepo Baby to be somewhat offensive because let's be honest it's not the kids fault who their parents are. So the likes of Sean Lennon and Julian Lennon and even Stella McCartney have probably spent their entire lives trying to get out of the shadow of their famous fathers. But you know what it's not their fault and most of these people have got talent in their own right. As we have just heard there. Bono's lad in a band called Inhaler. Brand new album Cuts And Bruises. The song is Love Will Get You There And it's a great song."

Show Outro

"So on that mildly controversial note I shall say Auf Wiedersehen from Munich and see you next week from Hannover. Home of the Scorpions. No doubt I shall be playing one of their tunes.

"So until then I shall leave you with this. The long lost re-recording found eventually and out on as a bonus track on the 1975 album A Night At The Opera. This is Queen with a re-record of Keep Yourself Alive. Till next week see ya!."
