Show Intro

"Whatcha mates. Welcome to The Joe Elliott Show right here on, yep, the wonderful Planet Rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. We've got sixty little minutes. One solid hour of some superb music for ya tonight. Bit of everything really, as I like to do. Starting off with, drum roll please, some brand new Def Leppard."

Def Leppard

"The album is out on the 27th May. And I can't tell you how excited we all are. That we've finally got some new music out because let's be honest it's been a while hasn't it. It's been seven years since the last Def Leppard album. But there you have it. The album is called Diamond Star Halos. That is the opening track. Brand new bit of work for ya called Take What You Want."

Thunder

"And while we're on the subject of brand new music. I'm really loving this new song by Thunder."

"And before that brand new Thunder from an album called Dopamine. Which is out in just a few days time. the song Across The Nation."

Delta Deep

"That boy Phil Collen can write a great song no matter what band he's playing in huh?. That is Delta Deep fom the album of the same name with a great bit of work called Shuffle Sweet."

Queen

"Now can you believe this Wednesday just gone it is 30 years since this."

"And before that we heard Queen featuring yours truly who apparently was the first person to ever sing with Queen after the passing of Freddie Mercury. That has become some kind of Pub Quiz question these days. It's from The Freddie Mercury Tribute which took place on the 20th April 1992. 30 years ago this Wednesday gone. The opening song of the Queen set Tie Your Mother Down."

Rush

"I just watched a very brilliant and very moving interview with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson on YouTube about the release of this album. They were going into all the emotions that you'd expect about Neil Peart. It was a really brilliant watch. It's 45 minutes of your time but it's well worth it if you're a Rush fan. I highly recommend you go and watch it. Beautiful insight to who they were and who they are now. But that is Rush from the album that they were talking about. It is the 40th anniversary edition of the Moving Pictures. The song we just heard the live track. The live version of Tom Sawyer. And what a great version it is."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're gonna fall back to earth with Slash."

Slash/Myles Kennedy

"And before that we heard Slash featuring the wonderful vocals of Myles Kennedy and his band The Conspirators. From his brand new album 4 we heard Fall Back To Earth."

Von Hertzen Brothers

"As you can well imagine I've been doing a hell of a lot of promo recently for the new Def Leppard record. And when you're talking to journalists from specific areas of the world they may mention a band from their region. And one gentleman this week asked me what I thought of the Von Hertzen Brothers. How could I sum them up in a phrase or whatever. And I just came out with it. I just said Punk Floyd, because to me that's kind of what they are. They've got all the energy of like a Punk band when they rock out. but all of a subtleties of a band like Pink Floyd when they get into that Proggy area. Which we just heard there from their brand new album Red Alert In the Blue Forest. The song we heard Peace Patrol. All ten minutes of it."

T. Rex

"And taking of Slash. You may remember if you're a GNR fan their 1993 album The Spaghetti Incident featured a song called Buick Mackane. Originally released and recorded by T. Rex on their Slider album back in 1972. Here's a song that was recorded during those same sessions in 1972 but turned out to be a fantastic B Side. This is T. Rex."

"And before that T. Rex. the B Side of Children Of The Revolution. Recorded during The Slider sessions. But it wasn't used until it became a B Side. But it's a great song. The song is Jitterbug Love."

Roxy Music

"Apparently the last song to feature Brian Eno as a member of Roxy Music. Big hit single for them back in 1973. It is Pyjamarama."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always especially as I got to play some brand new Def Leppard at the top of the show. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial."

"Until then I shall leave you with this. From The Eyes Of Alice Cooper. One of my favourite latter day Alice songs. This is Man Of The Year. Until next week see ya!."
