Show Intro
"Good evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on, you know, the wonderful Planet Rock."
"Great to be with you."
"Just got the one hour though, 60 short little minutes to play you some, in my humble opinion, wonderful music."
"So let's stoke some coke on the fire and get ready to Catch A Train."
"This is Free."
Free
"Yes I paraphrased Ian Hunter on the intro of that particular song because it is one of his favourite rock songs of all time, never mind one of his favourite Free tracks."
"And of course, couldn't agree more from the wonderful album that is Free At Last, that was indeed Free, with Catch A Train."
Kate Bush
"Now here's a couple of artists back to back that would eventually work together on what became one of the most iconic songs of all time."
"First off, we're going to hear Kate Bush."
"And before that, Kate Bush, a lady who would work with Peter Gabriel on his 1986 album So."
"On that most beautiful song, Don't Give Up, still one of the most heavily played songs on radio worldwide to this day."
"But we just heard her there from her album, Never Forever, with a wonderful bit of work called Violin."
Peter Gabriel
"Peter Gabriel there from his debut album back in 1977."
"I saw the tour at the Sheffield City Hall and it was absolutely magnificent."
"The song that we just heard from that debut album, Modern Love."
Garbage
"Right, well I don't mean this to sound rude, but here goes."
"This is absolutely Garbage."
"And before that we heard Garbage, absolutely garbage, but absolutely brilliant."
"From their debut album, we heard the wonderful Supervixen."
Flaming Lips
"I'll be honest with you, I had to use Wikipedia a couple of times on this particular show because I always wondered what that title stood for."
"To me and you, it's possibly just WAND, but it's got a full stop between every letter and apparently it stands for Will Always Negates Defeat."
"So there you go."
"It is the Flaming Lips, wonderful bit of work called, as I said to you and I, WAND."
"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."
"Coming up, I'm back on Wikipedia once again, all because of a man called Fish.
Fish
"And before that we heard Fish."
"Now you may remember if you've been a long time listener to my show that when I first started playing songs from this album when it was released in I think September 2020."
"So it's over four years ago, I was really struggling to pronounce the title and I'm no better at it now."
"So I looked it up and apparently the word Weltschmerz actually means literally World Pain."
"So I don't know what Fish was going through when he was writing these songs."
"But he certainly made me feel good because it's a brilliant, brilliant record and I've recently revisited it and I thought I would give something a spin from it, this particular show, and there we had it."
"The track is The Grace Of God."
ELO
"I see our man Jeff Lynne has added extra shows to his final UK run, which is great news if you're an ELO fan like I am."
"Rightfully so as well."
"I mean, what a talent."
"A great producer, a great writer, and of course, as we just said, they're a fantastic performer with the band ELO from the album Face The Music."
"We just heard Knightrider."
Focus
"Now here's a couple of instrumentals that are very different from each other, yet both brilliant."
"Starting off with that sometimes yodeling, but always legendary three-piece band from Holland called Focus."
"And before that we heard Focus all the way back to 1972 I think it was, I believe it was the B-side of Sylvia, I could be wrong, it could have been August Focus, I'm going to go with Sylvia though."
"Wonderful bit of work called House Of The King."
Ace Frehley
"From his debut album back in 1978 when every member of KISS released a solo album on the same day, that is Ace Frehley."
"His was the most successful album of the four actually because of his cover of the old Hello classic New York Groove."
"But what we just heard there was the closing track of the album Fractured Mirror."
Show Outro
"And that my friends is about it for this week, I know I say this every week but it's true, it's been a real pleasure and it always will be."
"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time so please don't go anywhere."
"Until then I shall leave you with this featuring Jason Bonham on drums and Adam Clayton from U2 on bass."
"This is Little Stephen and the Disciples of Soul from the album Born Again Savage with Salvation."
"Until next week, see ya!."
