Def Leppard played a Summer Stadium Tour 2024 show last night in Houston, TX with 18 songs performed.

The show took place at the 41,168 capacity Minute Maid Park.

The first show in this city since August 2022.

The second time at this venue.

Hot In Houston

The Summer Stadium Tour touched down in Houston for show #2 in Texas.

Temperatures over over 30C greeted them but as with Arlington the massive retractable roof was closed.

As it had been in August 2022 when they made their debut here.

The second of three shows in Texas in a week.

A massive crowd of over 37,000 fans gathered in the gigantic building.

Another one so big it made the stage look tiny.

A building which looks very similar to Globe Life Field in Arlington with almsot the same roof design.

The Steve Miller Band opened the show once more at 6pm as the venue filled up.

Under The Roof In Houston

And as the sun set outside, as seen through the massive windows behind the stage, Journey began their set at around 7:30pm.

The Houston skyline now lit up giving fans a great view.

As darkness descended the Pyro Clock countdown began.

In a city where the oldest audio was recorded for a Def Leppard album.

Although no one involved in the Apollo 11 mission knew it would later be used in 'Rocket' in 1987.

Houston we are go for launch!.

And 'Rocket' helped launch the show after the space themed intro video and 'Rock! Rock!' started things off.

A slow show to follow online but things heated up later on

Leppard Under Fire

'Billy's Got A Gun' was given a rest after it's run of three shows in a row in Flushing, Hollywood and Arlington.

'Comin' Under Fire' (Under Fire on the printed setlist) made a welcomed return to the show.

And like new single 'Just Like '73' it was something new for any of the crowd who had seen them before.

After the 'Pyromania' and acoustic sections came the big four songs to end the show.

The whole show ending was broadcast live by fans and it was another spectacular end to another massive stadium show.

A "f**king amazing place to play" as Joe put it before 'Two Steps Behind' and now on to show #3 in Texas.

And without a retractable roof it will definitely be a third indoor stadium show in a row in San Antonio.

Like Houston another city played for the first time 44 years ago in 1980.

18 Song Setlist

An 18 song setlist was played.

'Just Like '73' and 'Comin' Under Fire' were played in this city for the first time.

Houston History

The first visit to Houston was in May 1980 at Sam Houston Coliseum on their first American tour.

In March 2001 they made a special one-off appearance before 55,000 fans at the Houston Livestock & Rodeo Show on a revolving In The Round stage.

A show played at the Astrodome which was the original home of the Houston Astros tream.

Their second time in a stadium here came in August 2022 on The Stadium Tour which also saw them close after Motley Crue.

It was also their first time at Minute Maid Park.

Last night's show was the 21st overall performance in Houston.

The next Def Leppard show takes place San Antonio, TX on 16th August.
