31 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD's RETRO-ACTIVE Album At Number 6 In UK
Def Leppard's compilation album Retro-Active entered the UK album chart at Number 6 on this day in 1993.
The first compilation released by the band became their third consecutive Top Ten album in the UK.
The album had been released on 4th October 1993 at entered the Top 10 at Number 6 on 16th October 1993.
It fell to 18 in week two and by week four was at 57.
Three weeks were spent inside the Top 40.
It later re-entered the chart for two weeks in February 1994 following the release of the 'Action' single. In all spending six weeks on the album charts.
Meatloaf was the Number One album in the same week.
'Retro-Active' was the fourth highest new entry with fellow UK artists M People, The Wonder Stuff and Go West entering above them.
Other notable rock artists in the Top 40 that week were Nirvana (11), Bon Jovi (31) and U2 (35).
