Def Leppard played a 2025 tour show on 23rd August in Vancouver, BC with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 2,000 capacity Malkin Bowl (Marion Malkin Memorial Bowl).
A show played as part of the Beedie Rocks charity event.
The first visit to this city since September 2022.
Surprise Return To Canada
Five days off after the first ever show at "Yaamava' Theater" in Highland, CA.
Well, not quite, as the band slipped in a private charity show in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
A surprise and quick return to the country after the last show here at the end of July in St. John's, NL.
This time taking their show all the way over to the West Coast in British Columbia.
Yes, turns out there was more rock going on after the big TV performance of last week then we realised.
A charity concert called Beedie Rocks taking place at the 2,000 capacity Malkin Bowl.
Set within the Stanley Park area of the city.
The all day event began at 2pm with one of two stages.
Def Leppard headlined the Main Stage which started off at 4pm.
The line up also featured Foster The People, Howling Bells and Toque, who played other Canadian shows with the band this summer.
This event was set up by Ryan Beedie, the President of Beedie (a private real estate development, investment and management company based in Vancouver).
He is also listed as a philanthropist (and thanked by Rick in his video).
Stanley Park Gets (Secretly) Rocked
Not much to say about this show as most of us were not even aware it was taking place at the time.
But it started at 9:25pm local time.
Whilst some of us were busy transcribing a BBC Radio 2 Rock Show interview (such fun!...), the band were rocking another crowd.
As you can see from the photos and many video clips below another great evening of entertainment as put on by the band.
Just over 32 years since they last played a secret show in these parts of Canada (near Whistler), they played to another 'secret' outdoor crowd.
That time it was for Molson beer but this time it was for charity.
The Beedie Rocks event apparently raised "$2.5 million for Greater Vancouver food bank".
There were two interesting additions to the setlist in 'WLAHC' and 'Billy'.
Both not played since 2023 and 2024 and hopefully to be followed by many more interesting setlist additions in February 2026 in Las Vegas.
This venue saw them play with a much smaller stage set up but three separate video screens behind them on stage and two extra side screens.
So another great view for the smaller crowd of this show and the usual visuals displayed on all of these screens.
The third separate visit to Canada of 2025 and the first time in the city since The Stadium Tour when it was one of only three shows played in the country on that tour.
This brings the total number of Canadian shows played in 2025 up to seven.
Up next (as mentioned in the last Show Report from Highland...) a return to a State Fair Grandstand.
17 Song Setlist
A 17 song setlist was played.
'Just Like '73' was played here for the first time.
'When Love & Hate Collide' and 'Billy's Got A Gun' both made their tour debuts in 2025.
Quite possibly a rehearsal or sorts for the Chelmsford show with WLAHC usually brought back into the sets for UK shows.
Sadly this might mean no DHTH for there, but if they keep Billy we'll at least get that on a great radio/TV recording.
Vancouver History
The first visit to Vancouver took place in July 1983 at the PNE Coliseum on the Pyromania tour.
They returned to the same venue in 1988 and 1992 for In The Round shows.
GM Place was played for the first time in September 1996 on the Slang tour.
They returned to that venue in 2000 before playing the PNE Coliseum again in 2003 on the X tour.
They played GM place again in 2005, 2007, 2015, 2017 and in 2018.
The last visit to Vancouver was in September 2022 at BC Place on the Stadium Tour with Motley Crue.
Saturday night's show was the 13th performance in Vancouver.
The next Def Leppard show takes place in St. Paul, MN on 26th August (unless they slip in another secret show somewhere later tonight...).
