DEF LEPPARD Live 2026 Summer Tour In London (Show Report/Setlist)
Def Leppard played a Live 2026 tour show in London, England last night with 19 songs performed.
The show took place at the 20,000 capacity The O2 Arena.
The band's first visito this city since July 2023.
The second time at this venue.
London Calling
The home heroes left Sheffield and headed south to the capitol city of England for another show there after three years.
The return coming three years and one day after playing Wembley Stadium on The World Tour with Motley Crue and Mammoth WVH.
And back to an arena in London that was sold out when it was first played in December 2018 on the Hysteria & More tour.
The first of two shows in this city on that tour which was filmed for a live DCD/DVD/Blu-ray called 'Hysteria At The O2'.
And connected to the film from the second residency as part of the 'London To Vegas' box set.
The band now bringing the third residency stage design and setlist with them to London's now premier arena venue.
Slang Special Guest Night #2
Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt repeated his appearance during 'Slang' after doing so at the last show in Sheffield.
No Union Jack shirt this time but he brought the Extreme "funk" with him to an even more extended version.
The first known time any special guest has appeared at two consecutive shows.
Something Phil did himself on Bon Jovi's 1986 'Slippery When Wet' tour.
Extreme had played their usual opening set and were back on the same bill as Def Leppard in London for the first time since the Freddie Mercury Tribute show just over 34 years ago.
April 1992 at Wembley Stadium, where they played a mostly Queen medley and gave one of the greatest live performances of that day, probably the best in fact.
Hysteria (Again) At The O2
At 9:00pm the band hit the stage once again with 'Rejoice' and unlike the last show by song #2 lots of videos were being posted by fans at the arena.
'Animal' being the first and right away you could tell another great home town show was in full swing.
A loud band and a LOUD crowd singing along to every word.
Phil playing only a few miles from his childhood birthplace and home in Walthamtow in the East End of London.
More home shows (in he UK) now for him than any other band member with London overtaking Sheffield due to the multiple nights on the Hysteria tours of 1987/1988 and 2018.
Yes almost eight years after filming a show with the full album, Hysteria was brought back to The O2 Arena.
The song itself now with it's most spectacular stage design since it was first played here in September 1987.
Over 50 Fan Videos and counting so far on YouTube so anyone can see what a great night this was.
Every song going down a storm from the newer ones to the big hits section at the end.
'PSSOM' ending things in style again with now only two more shows in England (Great Britain / the UK) to go before they nip over the North Sea to France for a quick one show visit.
Next up the band will head back up to the midlands and a return to Birmingham.
19 Song Setlist
'Rejoice', 'Personal Jesus' and 'Just Like '73' were all played here for the first time.
London History
The first public show played in London took place in September 1979 at Hammersmith Odeon.
After a show at Imperial College the band headed back to Hammersmith for four shows with AC/DC in the same year.
The Music Machine and The Marquee were played in early 1980 before a show at Lyceum Theatre.
Hammersmith was played again in 1981 and twice in 1983 along with Phil's first show at The Marquee club.
The 1987/1988 Hysteria tour saw shows at Hammersith Odeon (x3) and Wembley Arena (x2).
Two In The Round shows were played in 1992 at Earls Court Arena along with the Freddie Mrcury Tribute show.
Wembley Arena was then played in 1996 (x2) and 1999.
The 2003 X/Ten tour saw the band go to different venues in Brixton Academy and Hammersmith Odeon for the first time since 1987.
They returned to Hammersmith Odeon again in June 2006 on the YEAH! tour.
The band stuck to Wembley Arena for shows in 2008, 2011 and 2015 as well as a return to Wembley Stadium before an NFL game in 2014.
In 2018 three shows were played at Royal Albert Hall, The O2 and Wembley Arena.
The last show took place in July 2023 on the World Tour at Wembley Stadium.
Last nights show was the 38th performance in London (excluding in-store acoustic shows/radio/TV shows).
In other words the most played city in England and all of the UK.
The next Def Leppard show takes place on 4th July in Birmingham, England.
