The venue is located in the city centre and near the Merrimack River.
It was opened in November 2001.
It was named as Manchester Civic Arena curing construction but then changed to Verizon Wireless Arena from 2001 to 2016.
It was then renamed as SNHU Arena sponsored by the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) which is three miles north of the venue.
