The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes
Show Intro Part 1
"Evening all and welcome to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming to this week once again from Joe's Garage in Dublin."
Def Leppard/Down 'n' Outz DVDs - Show Intro part 2
"One week before we head out back on the road. It has been a completely mental week this week as well. Been doing some work on a Down 'n' Outz DVD that's coming out later this year."
"They'll be a Def Leppard DVD coming out next year. As well as the usual / unusual domestic situations that one gets into when one's at home. We do not need to get into that but we do need to get into this. This is the Sensational Alex Harvey Band."
Earl Slick/David Bowie
"So if you've never heard that song before, as I announce it as a song by a guy called Earl Slick, and you start questioning your own sanity because you're thinking. 'My goodness, it doesn't half sound like David Bowie'. Well, it does sound like David Bowie because the vocal is David Bowie. Earl Slick was David Bowie's long term guitar player for many, many years. Over 30 years, almost 40 years."
"He also worked with Ian Hunter in the Overnight Angels band. He worked with John Lennon on the Double Fantasy album. And in 2003 he released a solo album called Zig Zag on which David Bowie supplied the vocals for that particular track. A song called Isn't It Evening."
Ra & Todd Rundgren
"And before that we heard Utopia from the album Ra. 1977 I believe it was. WE, the band Def Leppard, saw them opening for Led Zeppelin before we signed our record deal in 1979. The song we just heard Magic Dragon Theatre."
Peter Gabriel
"No apologies if it was up to me I would play if every week. It's that good. Peter Gabriel from his very first solo album called Peter Gabriel. Along with probably album two, three and four which were also called Peter Gabriel. That's a song called Modern Love produced by Bob Ezrin actually back in 1977 I believe it was."
Show Outro
"And that my friends all the way from Joe's Garage in Dublin, Ireland is about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you god willing next week at the same time from Madison, Wisconsin of all places. What a great place to start the tour. The heartland of the USA. And we'll be out for a month and then I shall be screaming these very words myself."
"This is Slade from the Feel The Noise Greatest Hits collection with Take Me Back 'ome. Until next week see ya!."
