Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was interviewed by PIXY 103 radio yesterday and said he hoped the next studio album would be mainly pure rock.
Phil was promoting the 18th August show in Mansfield, MA and again mentioned the recent studio work with Vivian and Rick.
Phil talked about the tour with Poison/Lita Ford, the possibility of Lita getting up onstage with the band, the Mirrorball (Live & More) album, the Manraze album and singles, the Rock Of Ages movie, and working on new music for the next Def Leppard studio album.
Live Licks - Phil Collen Interview Quotes
Will Def Leppard be making a new album any time soon?
"Yeah I'm actually recording at the moment. Me, Vivian and Rick Allen were doing some stuff yesterday and I've been like demoing. And I know Joe has. Joe and Sav live over in Ireland so it's pretty tough but we'll all be together soon anyway so we can kind of like - compare notes and get some stuff on the go."
"But I want to do a rock album as the next one. You know we've always drifted off and had different kind of versions of Def Leppard. You know we've done like kind of pop albums and more kind of songwritey type of songs and stuff like that. But I think on the next one it would be really cool to do a mainly pure rock album."
