Wantagh, NY - Fan Reviews

Def Leppard proved once again that just because they debuted in 1980....they are far from an 80's has-been band.
When a band can play a show with as many hits as they have been playing on the U.S. "X" tour I think it's time that people give them there due as one of the "Greatest Rock bands of all time"
The setlist was the same as most of the other shows on the tour with 'Slang' instead of 'You're So Beautiful'. Joe made reference to the Beacon Theatre shows a couple of times (which I saw all 3) saying that even though he has not bought an apartment in Manhattan yet he and the band have a strong connection to NYC, remembering opening for AC\DC in 1980. Also Malvin, Ricky Warwick and crew brought out a cake for Joe's birthday he said "It was the greatest party he ever had."
Now about the show, 'High n' Dry' 'Switch 625' and 'Four Letter Word' sounded great Joe was so on for 'Foolin' and 'Animal'. The outro solo that Vivian played on 'Love Bites' is amazing, but being a guitar player myself the breakdown in 'Rocket' is one of the greatest things I've ever heard\seen in person... Phil and Viv have done it before but not like this "X" tour. It is a clinic, for two totally different guitar players who "mesh" together so perfectly.
At almost all the Lepp shows I've seen (12) in my 26 years Joe always closes by saying "Don't forget us we won't forget you" I won't because this band is one of the reasons I became a musician... So to Joe, Phil, Rick, Sav, Vivian and Steve Clark Thanks!!!.

It had just stopped raining about 20 min. before showtime. Curtain almost blew down from the wind when raised. Great show as usual! Cake brought out on stage for Joe with candles lit!
Amongst the various bras and panties thrown on the stage, were a pair of red glittery devil horns that Joe actually wore for a couple of songs towards the end. Awesome show!.
