Show Intro

"Greetings one and all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Great to be with you as always. I'm very excited. 27th May. Big countdown for the new Def Leppard album. Until then I'm gonna play you some of my favourite music from other people. Sixty minutes, on hour to get it in. Starting off with Deep Purple."

Deep Purple

"Yes from the very first Deep Purple album I ever owned and I have to confess I bought it second hand from a shop in Sheffield called Violet May. Actually we used to call her Violent May because if you didnt buy something within the first tem minutes of walking into her shop, she would grab you by your ear and throw you out into the street. And I think I paid 60p for my original 12 inch scratchy version of that. I've now of course got a proper version of it. That is 1971 I believe it was. Title track of the album Fireball."

Be Bop Deluxe

"Now here's a band that I love to death. Not just because they're from Yorkshire But because they're brilliant. I've not played them for a while. So here they are. Be Bop Deluxe."

"Before that Be Bop Deluxe. It's the 2018 remix from the deluxe edition of the album Futurama. Originally released in 1975. The song we heard Music In Dreamland."

The Alan Parsons Project

"Myself and Phil Collen are huge fans of that album. Long before we met we were both listening to that album in our collective homes in Walthamstow and Sheffield. It is The Alan Parsons Project. The album is Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. The song introduced to me by Charlie the DJ at Improvisions is The Raven."

Lindisfarne

"Right let's head up the M1. Or the A1 actually. To the North East of England where a bunch of lovely long hairs have got a question for us."

"And before that Lindisfarne from the fantastically titled Nicely Out Of Tune album with Clear White Light."

Cheap Trick

"Magnificent stuff all the way back to 1982 there. That is Cheap Trick from the album One On One with If You Want My Love. Wonderful song."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up don't get spooked, but it is Ghost."

Ghost

"And before that Ghost from their fantastic new album Impera with Watcher In The Sky."

White Lies

"I played both those last two bands a couple of weeks ago, but I'm really loving the records. So I really wanted to share some more music from their albums. That's White Lies. We just heard from an album called As I Try Not To Fall Apart. The song is Don't Want To Go To Mars. Mmm me neither."

James Gang

"Now long before he was an eagle Joe Walsh was a solo artist. But before then he was in the James Gang."

"And before that the James Gang featuring the wonderfully talented Mr. Joe Walsh back in the day. I think it was about 1970 when that album was released. It is Thirds. The song we heard Walk Away."

The Kinks

"Yes there was more to The Kinks than just the driving force that is Ray Davies the main songwriter. There's his brother Dave throwing that one in for good measure. That one is a wonderful bit of work. Originally credited as a Dave Davies solo single but eventually become a Kinks song. Featured there on the album Picture Book it is Death Of A Clown."

Ellen Foley

"Right then bringing a bit of thunder and rain to the proceedings this is Miss Ellen Foley."

"And before that Ellen Foley from 1979. The album is night Out. It was produced by Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson. The song, written by Graham Parker, Thunder And Rain."

Mott

"You know what folks Morgan Fisher is such an underrated pianist. He's such a wonderful wonderful player. As can be heard right there. From the Mott album from 1975 which is entitled Drive On. We just heard I'll Tell You Something."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you. guess when. Yes, next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then let's go out with this beauty. The new Def Leppard album is entitled Diamond Star Halos which is a nod to Marc Bolan and T. Rex. Specifically Get It On. Not gonna play that. I'm gonna play a song that came a year later. From The Slider album in 1972. This is Marc Bolan and T. Rex and Metal Guru. Until next week see ya!."
