Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell was recently interviewed by Kansas City radio to promote the new Last In Line album.
Vivian talked about Last In Line, the making of their Heavy Crown album, Jimmy Bain's death and his time off.
The Last In Line Heavy Crown album was released on 19th February and entered the Top 10 of the UK and USA rock album charts.

Last In Line Heavy Crown Album/Jimmy Bain
"We released the album called Heavy Crown. It just came out February 19th. And it's a particularly bitter sweet time for us because the record's been a long time coming. It was actually in the can for over a year and we decided not to release it because we were all waiting for our schedules to clear up so that we could tour and promote the record because we believed in it that much."
"And Jimmy passed away on January 23rd. So Jimmy didn't quite get to see the release of the record. So that kind of has put us in a strange position. We were supposed to be on tour right now. We cancelled the tour out of respect to Jimmy . But we are gonna do a couple of festival dates because we do believe in the record and we know Jimmy did too and we owe it to ourselves and his memory to do something about it."
"But at least it's a good record. Jimmy, you know I laugh about this, but I know Jimmy. I know his sense of humour. He would be laughing too but he was very pleased with this record. Very proud of it and for a bass player he went out on a high note."
Making The Album
"It was a fun record to make. It was so easy and joyous and it was lovely to reconnect with those guys. You know we hadn't played together in close to 30 years and just to get back and play that kind of music was very cathartic for all of us I think."
