BBC Radio Ulster - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes
His Health/Current Treatment
"I got a treatment regime sorted out. I'm doing a course of treatment called Immunotherapy and it allows me to continue to work, there's no side effects. Still got some hair you know. It's not like chemo at all - it's very benign in my case and I just have to fly back to Los Angeles every three or three and a half weeks to do infusions. So that's the hard part. Has been the scheduling and the extra travel that I have to do."
"And so far so good. I mean it's been six months since I started. I just did a set of scans in Los Angeles last week and they look to be pretty good. At the very least it's holding it in place. It actually appears that it might even be slightly smaller. The two tomors that I have. So my doctors are pleased with that."
Touring Whilst Undergoing Treatment
"It's not the actual work that's the hard part. The hour and a half or two hours we're on stage is bliss, that's joy. You know, it's all the bits in between. It's the travel obviously that's difficult. The jetlag. I mean you know going from Perth to Singapore to London via Los Angeles all within a week you know. It's hard to know what time of day it is or indeed what day it even is."
Message To Local Fans
"Well, I would want no one to be concerned about me. I really am not concerned about my health. I mean, it's just to me, it's just part of the process you know. It's part of life. There's many, many people who are dealing with things much, much worse you know. And you know it's a pleasure for me to come back here. I've always enjoyed playing my home town. I genuinely belive that Belfast is one of the great rock cities in the world."
