Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott hosted another edition of his weekly radio show last night on Planet Rock.
This weeks show was a 2013 review featuring songs by Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Def Leppard.

"Evening all and welcome. So, how was your Christmas? You've recovered from your hangovers I hope. Are you standing on those very sharp little needles that are falling off your head from the decaying tree hmmm. Welcome to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. Looking forward to a wonderful 2014. I'm sure we all are but this show is a review of the year 2013 the good the bad and sadly the ugly but we're gonna start off with the very good. This is the Black Star Riders."

"And that's about it for this review of 2013. For me it's been a great year. Def Leppard moved into Las Vegas in March and April. We took over the Hard Rock Hotel. We moved into The Joint and we played VIVA! Hysteria for the whole world to see. It went into cinemas, it's out on DVD and CD. And it's a great documentation of how a band like Def Leppard can really take off in a place like Las Vegas. We also had a hugely successful summer tour which reached its peak in Quebec, Canada in front of 85,000 people. Thank you Quebec we will be back. But let's not forget that we did this entire year under the cloud of cancer because when we turned up for rehearsals for VIVA! Hysteria back in March Vivian Campbell was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I'm very pleased to announce however that in December of 2013 Vivian is cancer clear and in remission. So if that's not a good news story for the year 2014 I don't know what is. I'm off to finish the Down 'N' Outz second album that will be out sometime next year. Def Leppard are getting together in February to write some songs for a future project. Until next week I shall leave you with something from VIVA! Hysteria.
