The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Good evening everyone and welcome to a very, very special edition of the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. This week is a two hour special on the life, times and music of the late great Mick Ronson. This Monday coming, the 29th April will be the 20th anniversary of Mick's passing. We've got some wonderful highlights of Mick's career but even with two hours we can't get it all in. So what we've done is not gone for the obvious but we've gone for the music that shows off Mick's incredible playing and arranging including this beauty."

Don't Look Down

"Back in 1992 when Def Leppard were just finishing up the Adrenalize album I got a phone call from Ian Hunter informing me what was going on with Mick's life and the fact that he was suffering from cancer. But, on a more positive note he was making a solo album and would I like to contribute to it? You bet I would!."

Queen/Freddie Mercury Tribute Show

"That would be my bucket list of musicians to work with don't you think. That's Queen, David Bowie, Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson myself and Phil Collen on our take on the classic Mott The Hoople track written by David Bowie All The Young Dudes from the Freddie Mercury Tribute show back in April 1992."

The Truth, The Whole Truth, Nuthin' But the Truth

"Incredible stuff I'll never forget playing that to Vivian Campbell and him looking up from doing his crossword and going 'WOW! that is unbelievable', he'd never heard it before. From the album Ian Hunter that's The Truth, The Whole Truth, Nuthin' But the Truth."
