Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was interviewed in December 2011 by Manchester's Real Radio XS.
The station (which changed it's name from Rock Radio Manchester last year) spoke to Phil backstage at the Manchester show.
Phil talked to DJ Dewsbury about the UK tour with Motley Crue and Steel Panther, vegan food and why he became a vegetarian, the next Def Leppard album/new songs, touring in 2012, the Rock Of Ages movie and what is the best moment of his career he'd like to be remembered for.
Real Radio XS - Phil Collen Interview Quote
Is there any news on the next Def Lep album?
"Yeah we're actually, it's gonna come a track or two at a time. We're not gonna do an album it's takes - if we do an album, it's gonna take at least eight months and we're gonna be touring next year so that ain't gonna be happen anytime soon. We may have a new song, maybe not but we're gonna write songs one or two at a time. I think it's a better way. I think it's very corporate when people go we need ten songs. And you've really only written one and you have to find like eight fillers or whatever and I don't like doing that personally."
"We may do collections of these songs with a few bonus - maybe two or three new songs at some point. But as far as putting a new album out I think unless we're gonna do - like we did with Manraze where we did the whole thing in two weeks then it's not really gonna fly."
