Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott revealed that the Cybernauts project will be recording and playing live in 2013.
The band first played together in 1994 as The Spiders From Mars during the Mick Ronson Memorial concert in London. Alongside the late Dick Decent the band featured Joe Elliott, Phil Collen and original David Bowie backing band members Woody Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder.
They toured together in 1997 around the UK/Ireland and eventually released the Dublin show in 2001 as the Cybernauts. A bonus disc of extra recording done in 1997 and in Japan (during a short January 2001 Japanese tour) was included. Phil Collen had previously hinted at more Cybernauts work in a 2012 interview (see Interview section...).
The Joe Elliott Show - Quote
"Yeah a little bit of manic depression for ya there, the old Hendrix number by the Cybernauts. I played that this evening because I've been talking to Woody Woodmansey this week and it looks like there's gonna be activity in the Cybernauts camp once again for the first time in well over 10 years. More new as it happens but we are definitely going in the studio to record a couple of songs and there may be some live shows in 2013. I'll keep ya posted if you're indeed interested in that. Woody Woodmansey of course is the drummer in the Cybernauts and was originally the drummer with David Bowie."
