Show Intro

"Greetings my fellow music lovers and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. What a radio station this is. Always good to be with you. What have we got tonight. About 60 minutes. The hour of power. Starting off with those destructive boys from New York. This is KISS."

KISS

"I shall never forget my first encounter with the four original members of KISS. It was via the shop window of Bradley's Records on Far Gate in Sheffield. When I was walking down the high street wondering what to buy this week as a album and I saw this life size poster of the front cover of the album that they were just promoting at the time and it was the four members of KISS in full gear on a mountain with a burning city behind them. As a 16 year old kid it was an image that you'll never forget. What an album. It is Destroyer produced by Bob Ezrin who would go on to produce the likes of Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd. He'd already done Alice Cooper in the early 70s. What a fantastic a;bum Destroyer is. We just heard the opening track Detroit Rock City."

Elton John

"Now I don't recommend that you do this tonight. But it really is a good night for it."

"And before that Elton John magic stuff from 1973. The album is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. The song Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting but don't do this at home folks."

UFO

"From that magnificent album that is Obsession that is UFO from 1978 with You Don't Fool Me."

Medicine Head

"Right here's some brand new Medicine Head."

"And before that Medicine Head who listeners of a certain age may remember were a blues duo from the late 60s/early 70s. Featuring John Fiddler who would go on to front British Lions about 7 years later. And a gentleman called Peter Hope Evans who's no longer involved with them. But Medicine Head are back with a new album. A new record label. The album is called Warriors Of Love. It's essentially just a John Fiddler project now. He plays pretty much every instrument and programs everything himself. He does have a few guests on this album including Dave Bucket Colwell. Who you may remember or know of as somebody that hovers around the Bad Company scene occasionally. The album is called Warriors Of Love. The song we just heard Chinese Whispers."

Def Leppard

"Something just a little left field for you there from the recently released third instalment of the Def Leppard box sets. That's from the B-Sides album. It was actually a bonus track on the Japanese release of the 2008 album Songs From The Sparkle Lounge. It is the piano version of the song Love featuring some magnificent playing by one Mr. Dick Decent. Sadly the late great Mr. Dick Decent. He's no longer with us.

"Miss that man so much he such a great player and often one of what we call a handful of sixth members of Def Leppard that have included in the past Mutt Lange, Ronan McHugh and of course Dick. Wonderful stuff. Great player."

Note - And the UK Deluxe Version.

"Right coming up we're gonna go and visit the Kingdom Of Madness with Magnum."

Magnum

"And before that Magnum who 41 years ago were special guests on Def Leppard's first ever headline tour of theatres when we were promoting On Through The Night around the UK. Great live band. The debut album Kingdom Of Madness. The song we heard In The Beginning."

Manfred Mann's Earth Band

"Believe it or not written about their then guitarist Mr. Dave Flett. That is Manfred Mann's Earth Band from their very best of collection The World Of Man with the hit single Dave Is On The Road Again."

Sparks

"And from in the beginning to in the future. This is Sparks."

"And before that we heard Sparks who recently released a documentary or should I say rockumentary called The Sparks Brothers. I#m really looking forward to seeing that. But there they were from their 1975 Indiscreet with In The Future."

Tom Petty

"From their second album You're Gonna Get It released in 1978. That is Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers with I Need To Know."

Doctors Of Madness

"Right now it's time for some late night movies and all night brain storms. This is the Doctors Of Madness."

"And before that fellow medical misfits the Doctors Of Madness from their 1976 debut album Late Night Movies All Night Brain Storms. We heard B-Movie Bed Time."

Doctor Feelgood

"I saw that band a bunch of times back in the day in Sheffield. Mostly at the City Hall actually. Which is quite a feat for a band that were labelled pub rock. They were magnificent live. They really were. They were Doctor Feelgood and there from the single out collections we just heard She's A Wind Up."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. But you know that already. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial."

"Until next week see ya!."
