DEF LEPPARD On Perfect Producer MUTT LANGE And The PYROMANIA Album

Def Leppard members Joe Elliott, Rick Savage and Phil Collen have been interviewed to promote the Pyromania 40th anniversary box set.

The 40th anniversary 'Pyromania 40 Super Deluxe Edition' will be released on Friday 26th April 2024 via Universal Music Recordings.

The release follows a year of band celebrations on social media using the #pyromania40 hashtag and recent video teasers.

New Band Interview

In a new interview with Stereogum Joe, Sav and Phil talked about the live show/setlist, live vocals, recording Pyromania/Mutt Lange, recording technology, Queen/AC/DC influence, Phil joining, Steve Clark, guitar sound, MTV, first show 1978, opening for AC/DC, band name, Cybernauts, Taylor Swift, 2009 cartoon show, streaming catalogue and other artists liking them.

Recording Pyromania Album

Joe and Sav mentioned the recording of the Pyromania album and how different it was to 'High 'n' Dry'.

Producer Mutt Lange

Both Sav and Phil also talked about working with Mutt Lange with Sav calling him the 'perfect producer' for the band.

New Single

As mentioned elsewhere in this interview Sav broke news of a new one-off single release.

It features a guitar guitar appearance by Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine.

Cybernauts

Phil was also asked about the ongoing updated Cybernauts album that he and Joe have talked about since at least 2012.

Phil says once more it is still being worked on/discussed.

DEF LEPPARD To Release PYROMANIA 40 Super Deluxe Edition Box Set With Unreleased Songs

Def Leppard will release a 40th anniversary Super Deluxe version of Pyromania in late April including rare songs.
