5 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD Headline DOWNLOAD Festival For Third Time

Def Leppard played a show on the 2019 European tour on 14th June 2019 in Derby, England at the Download Festival with 18 songs performed.
The show took place at the 80,000 capacity Download Festival at Donington Park racetrack.
The fourth show of the Def Leppard 2019 European tour.
Def Leppard headlined the festival for the first time exactly ten years after they returned here on 14th June 2009. Their first appearance at Download.
The full 'Hysteria' album was played to start the show which brought the band back full circle to 1986 when they first played here during the making of the album.
Two songs - 'Run Riot' and 'Love And Affection' had been debuted at that show one year before the album's release and were played here again along with three album tracks never played here before.
Joe once again acknowledged Rick and his comeback before 'Rock Of Ages'.

"So here we are once again. It's the 14th of June 2019. It's exactly ten years since. Exactly ten years since we first headlined this place back in 2009. It's a very spiritual place for Def Leppard as most of you will know because in 1986 when we played what was the Monsters Of Rock as special guests to Ozzy and the Scorpions. It was essentially our first gig back after Rick's accident. So this place geographically, emotionally is an enormous thing to this boy here. And to be back here ten years after we first headlined is an amazing amazing achievement."
"I think it was 23 years and here we were headlining and here we are ten years later. and we're headlining. And we can't thank you enough we really can't. Every single one of you thank you. So as I'm on the subject of will you stand up please. Make some noise for this boy he deserves it. Ladies and gentleman Mr. Rick Allen on the drums!.And as ever he will introduce this one for ya."
