Def Leppard members Joe Elliott, Phil Collen and Rick Savage played the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles, CA last night with two songs performed.

The show took place at the KIA Forum.

A return to Los Angeles and Inglewood for the first time since The Stadium Tour show at neighbouring SoFi Stadium in late August.

The 8th time at this venue for Joe, Phil and Sav.

The first time back on stage since the 9th September Las Vegas Stadium Show tour for all three.

A special night with the band joining together with many other famous musicians to honour Taylor Hawkins after his sad and untimely passing in March.

Def Leppard And Foo Fighters

Many questions before this show - what would they play?. And who would they play with?.

Members of the Foo Fighters for sure with Pat Smear seeming an obvious choice following his visit to the Stadium Tour rehearsals in LA in May.

his connection to the band would later be revealed to go way back to 1983.

But would Dave Grohl actually play with Def Leppard? - and what would Kurt Cobain make of such an event...

Well Dave did indeed join them but on guitar along with his Foo Fighters band mate Chris Shiflett.

But the on stage guests did not end there.

Pyromania Set/More Guests

Both 'Photograph' and 'Rock Of Ages' were played for Joe, Phil and Sav's brief Def Leppard section.

And during 'Photograph' they were joined by Miley Cyrus who was also on the bill at the 2017 iHeart Radio show in LA and pictured with the band backstage.

This time she handled lead vocals alongside Joe with Dave Grohl on guitar and Phil and Sav alongside Chris, Rami and Pat from the Foo Fighters.

Fortunately captured on live streams - a rare sight indeed.

The line-up as completed by Patrick Wilson from Weezer of drums and the Foo Fighters regular backing vocalists - Laura Mace plus Barbara Gruska and Dave's daughter Violet Grohl.

Pat Smear Pyromaniac

Pat Smear introduced Joe, Phil and Sav on stage and mentioned he had come to one of the LA Forum shows here in 1983 to see them on the Pyromania tour.

The Pyromania tracks became even more appropriate following his introduction.

And to complete the Pyromania connections he was playing one of Phil's classic Ibanez Destroyers used on the 1983/1984 tour (or an X-Stroyer copy).

Joe later came back out at the end of the Foo Fighters set for the final bow and was seen hugging and talking to Pat Smear, Chad Smith and Stewart Copeland.

And as you can see from Ross Halfin's pics below Joe and the band also hung out with Lars Ulrich, John Paul Jones and guest vocalist Miley Cyrus.

Concert Filming

Multiple cameras were filming the show so some kind of release may happen in the future.

Pat Smear - Def Leppard Intro

"I came here in 1983 to see this man play this guitar on this song we're about to play. Phil Collen loaned me this guitar. For this night - Joe Elliott over here. We got Sav on bass. We got Pat from Weezer on the f**king drums."

Joe Elliott - Taylor Hawkins Story

"So 30 years ago Phil walked into a guitar store in Laguna Hills. And a 20 year old kid sold him a bunch of guitar strings. And about four or five years later we did Top Of The Pops in England. This kid walks into the dressing room and he says the immortal words - "What the f**k are you doing here?". He was playing drums for Alanis Morissette. That was Taylor Hawkins. So in memory of. Let's do some numbers. A couple of songs to play."

Joe Elliott - End Quote

"We love you Taylor!."

The next Def Leppard show will take place in 2023 (dates TBA).
