DEF LEPPARD End THE STADIUM TOUR 2022 In LAS VEGAS, NV (Show Report/Setlist)

Def Leppard played show number 36 of The Stadium Tour in Las Vegas, NV last night with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 65,000 capacity Allegiant Stadium.

The first visit to Las Vegas since September 2019 for the iHeart Radio Music Festival.

The 39th show by the band in Las Vegas and first time at this venue.

The 38th headline show if you discount the five song set in 2019 for iHeart Radio.

The first visit here was in September 1983 at the Aladdin Theatre during the Pyromania tour.

A show played on the same date as this one - 9th September.

The 'VIVA! Hysteria' residency took place at the now closed The Joint venue for 11 shows in March/April 2013.

They would return for residency #2 in August/September 2019 with the 12-show 'Hits Vegas - Sin City Residency'.

Both residencies filmed and recorded for CD/DVD/Blu-ray releases.

Due to these residencies Las Vegas is the most played city for the band in the USA and Canada.

All Las Vegas shows have taken place pretty much within a mile or two of this venue.

The only outdoor show in Las Vegas was in June 2012 at Red Rock Casino Amphitheatre also with Poison on the bill.

Show #36 - The End Of The Road (For Now)

Having started the tour on 16th June in Atlanta, GA it was now time to end the 2022 run in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The band's second home in recent years and a new stadium awaited them full of over 40,000 fans.

A 7:30pm start for show #36 and as ever Rick's pounding drums kicked off the evening's entertainment as 'Take What You Want' blasted into the huge stadium.

With the crowd singing along loudly they raced through another superb show and the biggest ever played in Las Vegas.

Exactly 39 years since the first show here on 9th September 1983 not far from this very venue.

"1983 Pyromania" - and 'Foolin'' was played in Vegas once more.

Vivian was introduced as ever before 'Armageddon It' and then Joe introduced 'Kick' with - "So we're finally here!".

Finally here and rocking away to a packed venue in Viva! Lep Vegas once again.

There was a party atmosphere in the stadium but a more sombre matter from "back home" was about to be mentioned.

Queen Elizabeth Tribute

Just after introducing the band members for 'This Guitar' Joe looked behind him and waited for a Union Jack flag image to be displayed and unfurled down the screens.

When it was he started a little speech for The Queen mentioning her passing and that the band would dedicate the song to her memory.

The flag was then replaced by the lyric video visuals for the song.

Joe wore a white jacket similar to his usual one but this had a Union Jack design.

Def Leppard 2022.

Joe echoed former Prince now King Charles' words from his TV address given earlier in the day.

But also made a slight (or big) error in saying she had been Queen for 50 rather than 70 years. Oops.

Three of the hand had already paid tribute to The Queen before this show without any such errors. So won't be heading to the Tower Of London.

Last Night/End Of Tour Thanks

Joe thanked all the other bands at the end of PSSOM and all of their road crews.

And then the show and this tour for 2022 was over.

Read most of Joe's speeches below.

Transparent Roof/Indoor Show

Another venue with a transparent roof not unlike the one used at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

But unlike that one this one is not retractable.

The roof has - "semi-translucence allows natural light to illuminate the field during day games".

And like State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ it also has a roll-in grass field that moves in and out of the stadium.

There are also four windows which can open at one end of the stadium to let in natural sunlight and air and give vies over the Las Vegas strip which were closed fo this show.

And unlike SoFi Stadium's 5 billion dollar price tag, this stadium was a mere snip at just 2 billion dollars to build.
