Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Which this week is coming to you from Little Rock, Arkansas. Where have I been since we were last together?. Well we started up again last weekend in Atlanta. A fantastic stadium show with Journey and The Pretenders. What a great show and as I said stood at the side of the stage for the entire performance by The Pretenders and they were absolutely magnificent. Then we called in Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Memphis. Had a great day off in Memphis. Went to visit Graceland, Elvis' place. Went to Sun Studios where Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis and the likes of recorded all their early works and then we did a gig and here we are in Little Rock, Arkansas. Tomorrow night, which is only 24 hours away, we're in Tulsa but I promise no Gene Pitney. We do however have Rene Berg."

Rene Berg

"Briefly a member of Hanoi Rocks. Sadly no longer with us but that is Rene Berg featuring Paul Gray and Rat Scabies from The Damned and Bernie Torme on guitar from an album called The Leather, The Loneliness And Your Dark Eyes. That is Secrets."

Paul Rodgers

"Now anybody listening that was lucky enough to be at the Albert Hall when Paul Rodgers recorded this. Well you lucky lucky people."

"And before that Paul Rodgers lead singer of Free. Paying his own tribute to the band Free from the live album Free Spirit recorded at the Albert Hall with the fantastic To Catch A Train."

Def Leppard

"From the 2006 album YEAH! that is Def Leppard paying tribute to one of our favourite bands of all time growing up. The band are Free. The song you just heard Little Bit Of Love."

Jet (UK)

"Right two bands, same name. Very different. This first one and the second one are both called Jet."

"And before that the UK Jet from back in 1975/76 I think it was. What a line-up for a band that never took off. They had Andy Ellison on vocals once of John's Children. There was Dave O'Leary once of Nice and almost Roxy Music. Peter Oxendale who played keyboards for Ian Hunter's Overnight Angels. They really should have made it but they didn't. Song that we heard Nothing To Do With Us."

Jet

"As Rick Savage would say the best song that Jeff Lynne never wrote. And what a piece of work from the album Get Born that is the Australian Jet with Look What You've Done."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show all the way from Little Rock in Arkansas this week. It's time for a little break and when we come back, it really is stranger than fiction with Spilt Enz."

Split Enz

"And before that from 1975 fantastic mad, mad New Zealand from a band called Split Enz. The album is Mental Notes. The song we heard Stranger Than Fiction."

Pop Evil

"Currently opening the show for Poison and Cheap Trick across the US right now. That is a band called Pop Evil. From their 2015 album Up. The song is Footsteps (Go Higher)."

Steel Panther

"OK so last week at the Ramblin' Man Festival Wyatt Wendels. My good friend Wyatt interviewed Michael Starr from Steel Panther Well he was bigging me up so much about certain activities that my credibility was going through the roof and then he said right at the very end that he'd made it all up. And my credibility went right down the toilet. We had to bleep some of this out but you just have to hear it. Listen, he's not a well man."

"See what I mean. Well thank you Michael you nearly made me cred. Let's play them anyway. This is Steel Panther."

"And before that god bless them. They are great. Steel Panther with The Burden Of Being Wonderful."

Hollywood Monsters

"That is a band called the Hollywood Monsters who feature on drums Vinny Appice from Vivian's Last In Line. Obviously DIO and Black Sabbath. And Tim Bogert on bass who played with Vanilla Fudge and the likes of Jeff Beck. And fronted parted at least by Janita Haan who I saw a bunch of times in Sheffield back in the 70s either fronting Janita Haan's Lion or Babe Ruth. The song we heard It's A Lie."

Redd Kross

"Right then this is Redd Kross."

"And before that we heard Redd Kross from the fantastic album Phaseshifter with Jimmy's Fantasy."

Imperial Drag

"Sounding uncannily like a little known 70s glam band called Kenny who once had in their ranks Keith Chegwin. That is Imperial Drag with Boy Or A Girl."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Little Rock in Arkansas, is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time god willing all the way from Chicago in Illinois."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this. Brand new music from Jim Wilson. He played guitar with Sparks ten years ago. He has played with the likes of Henry Rollins. He plays occasionally in a band with Scott Ian and he has got his second solo album out right now. It is called Now Playing and this song is Honeysuckle. Until next week see ya!."
