DEF LEPPARD's VIVIAN CAMPBELL Comments On Oh Yeah Legend Award

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has been interviewed ahead of his special award ceremony in Belfast this November.

Vivian will be the recipient of a special award called the 'Oh Yeah Legend Award' in his home city of Belfast, Northern Ireland on 11th November.

He has spoken in a new interview with Irish News who first mentioned his ward back in August.

The ceremony takes place at the Mandela Hall. The award 'recognises the exceptional contribution of a musician or music industry figure from Northern Ireland'.

Vivian talked about the award, record awards/success, his early years in Northern Ireland, his former bands and Last In Line/Jimmy Bain's death.

Last in Line will play a special show at The Mandela Hall following the Oh Yeah Legend presentation.

Tickets to the event cost 15 pounds.

Previous winners include Ash, The Undertones, Therapy? and one of Vivian's heroes Gary Moore.

"You know, I've never gotten an award in my life. The last time I got an award I was 12 years old playing football for Hillsborough Boys – so I've got a lot of room on the mantelpiece! I've received a lot of Gold and Platinum record awards over my career for Dio, Whitesnake and Def Leppard and I've never once hung one on my wall, to be honest. It's not been my kind of thing."
