Jackie Donovan - Joe Elliott Interview Quotes

2015 Studio Album Name

"I'd have to kill you if I told you. Seeing as this might be happening with your boyfriend soon I don't wanna be part of a double murder. I'll be dead honest with you, we actually don't have a a title for it yet. But if we did you know again I'd be waiting until we had the official date for it so that people can go to our website and day OK there's the countdown. They're about to announce what it's called sort of thing."

2015 Tour Rehearsals

"Not so much in rehearsals in the sense of like all locked in one room high five-ing each other and saying 'how does that one go?'. We haven't started that yet. In actual fact we're still in a kind of a funny way working on the new album. There's little bits and bobs to do and to finish on that. Tiny, tiny little things that we're going in and re doing or you know re evaluating certain things."

"But everybody is doing their homework and quite simply and everybody should do if if they don't, it's the easiest way really to make sure that you never kind of screw up is you play along with the record. And sing along with the record of the setlist. You know the songs that you've decided to pool you know. We'll only play maybe 18 songs on the night but we'll be picking from 25 or maybe 30."

"So you have a tape or a playlist of those songs and you just familiarise yourself with them at home. And the guitarists will play along. Rick will play along in his kit. I will sing along at home and then when we all get into a room. We all know what we're doing. Instead of like 'How does that second verse go' everybody has done their homework. So that makes the rehearsal part of it that much more fun because were not sitting around waiting for one of us to catch up. Everybody's all on the same page. We've been like that for years and it just economically makes more sense. Emotionally it makes a lot more sense because everybody is prepared. So we can get out there and do what we're supposed to do which is to entertain the audience."

Hysteria On The High Seas Cruise/Side Bands

"Yep we are. It's been on the cards for a long, long time because you know I mean - we're not the first to do it you know that. There's been rock cruises. In fact the guys in the Down 'n' Outz. When they're performing as The Quireboys, they did the rock cruise last year and that's how I ended up with Share Ross on bass from Vixen because she stood in for their bass player and they said you've gotta get this girl in the band, she's amazing. So you know the rock cruise is - we've been milling around ever since we were gonna do the Vegas thing and we did that. And then they want us back and we shall be doing that again as well pretty soon."

"the rock cruise thing's been on for ages. KISS did it last year. Motley have done it I think. It just seems to becoming part of the rock and roll kind of tradition now. It's not just regular touring, let's go and do it on a boat for four days. So it's something that we're really looking forward to."

Down 'n' Outz/Last In Line/Manraze On The Cruise?

"It's possible. It's possible, it's not definite by any means but we haven't ruled it out. It's something that's been talked about by certain people but if it happens it happens and if it doesn't the most important thing is that Def Leppard will be Hysteria On The High Seas and what a fun show that's gonna be."
